Charming garden level suite with private entrance
About this house rental
Situated in Denver, this attractive house for $135 per night is a great choice for your next break. I call my home The Nest. This is a prime location near shops, restaurants, DU, Safeway, and light-rail. You have a separate entrance to a fully remodeled basement apartment including 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, living room, work-space, laundry room and kitchenette. You have your choice between Marriott pillows, My Pillow pillows, and some temper-pedic pillows. (I take my pillows seriously!) There are 14 restaurants of all ethnicities within 400 yards, and a Starbucks only 100 yards away. Welcome to The Nest! The space This is a 1950's home that was fully and lovingly renovated just a couple years ago. I live in the upstairs level, and the garden level is all yours with a separate entrance -- even a separate custom-lit walkway from the street. While I want to be here to greet you as you arrive, if I'm unable to there is a keypad entrance for easy access. The check-in hours are from 3pm to 8pm, but if you are here outside those hours, just contact me and we'll make it happen. Guest access You have a separate, private entrance with motion censored lights that light up your path at night. I will not enter your space during your stay here unless there is an emergency or at your invitation. 2 x bedrooms (The first bedroom has a queen bed, closet and dresser, the second bedroom has a queen bed and closet, and in the living room there is even a futon which can turn into a full-size bed (with two super cozy mattress toppers!) This price is for 2 people but it will fit up to 6! (But that is cozy, I gotta tell you! I do ask for $10 per person extra for each person over the initial 2. Just let me know how many people and I'll give you a custom quote. The kitchenette has a sink, refrigerator, coffee maker, LOADS of various coffees, creamers and sugars! Microwave, nutri-bullet blender, toaster, crock-pot, hot-water jug, basic dishware, and basic condiments. NOTE: We do not have a hot plate -- by design -- and ask that you not bring your own. The bathroom has a shower (no tub). The bathroom is small, but fresh and new and cleaned thoroughly after each guest. All of these rooms are yours and won't be shared with anyone else. Interaction with guests I am in my portion of the house, but am here for you if you want to chat, get advice on the hot spots, where to eat, shop, directions, etc. If you're up for a walk, I'm always up for a walk through the neighborhood -- just ask! Maybe we'll even end up at the Thai restaurant near by! Other things to note I do have three cats, and while they have no access to your apartment you may hear them scurrying about early in the morning. Then, of course, they sleep the rest of the day because, well, they're cats. Note about cat allergies: The cats have never been in your apartment suite, but if you have serious allergies this might not be a good fit for you. I'm sure kitty hair can sneak through vents. I do work from home too, so am in and out all day. You may hear me walking around. But I ain't dancin' with high heels, so it shouldn't be that loud! There is street parking, but you'll want to park on the east side. The west side you can park from 6pm to 8am and all day Sunday. (The west side of the street is permitted parking for residents. The east side -- across the street -- has no homes so you have plenty of it!) NOTE: The rates quoted are for two people, although 4 people can comfortably be here. But there is a $10 per night/per person fee over 2 people. Just mention it when you book and we'll work it out. Thanks.

We had a great time staying at The Nest while in Denver to see Taylor Swift! Polly was wonderful and welcoming. The property was well supplied - and within walking distance of plenty of stores and restaurants for anything we needed. Also very easy to get downtown. All in all - a great place to stay.

Just like the description says, this place was so cozy. Parking was easy, the neighborhood was safe and Polly was warm and welcoming. There are even more amenities than listed and it’s clear that Polly was very thoughtful when she set up the space. Great stay!

My 21 yr old son and I stayed in Polly’s home recently for a hiking trip. From her communication before we arrived, to her meeting us promptly when we arrived and showing us everything we needed to know, Polly was a great host! Her apartment is very well set up and she seems to have furnished it with anything and everything one would need on a vacation. She was very helpful in suggesting where to eat and giving us an overview of the area. Her place was perfect for us, as we each had our own space with a very comfortable common area. Highly recommend!

Polly, has an awesome place to stay at if you visit Denver. She was so welcoming and great to talk to. She has done a great job with the decor and overall feel of the place to give you the home away from home experience. For our first visit to Denver, my son and I felt like we were at home. I must say this was one of the few places I have stayed at away from home and got some of the best sleep.
It is walkable to stores and restaurants. Our commute to different venues (museums, etc.) was the most 15 minutes away in a Lyft or Uber. We would definitely stay at Polly’s place again.

This apartment was a cozy place to return to after a day of sightseeing. The accommodations were very nice and thought-out. It was furnished with everything we could have needed and the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely go back if we ever returned to Denver.

We got snowed in unexpectedly and wound up staying in the majority of our trip, but The Nest was a warm place to be stuck. Polly even brought us fresh baked chocolate chip cookies.

I came from Seattle, My Mom met me from Sacramento to meet with family for Thanksgiving. I did not want to stay in a motel so I looked up VRBO properties. The "Nest" stood out above the other 90 listings because I needed 2 bedrooms(privacy for Mom).The description was enticing, and so was Polly's Bio. The property turned out way better. and Polly was an incredible host. It's very nice to have a host so close by. She helped tremendously with guidance and suggestions. I will recommend Her from now on, and stay everytime I make it to Denver

On street parking. Great neighbor, felt safe and close to grocery, liquor store, USPS, excellent choices of foods. Close to Cherry Creek.

We really enjoyed our stay at Polly’s place. Basically it had everything we needed. It didn’t have a stove, but I didn’t plan on cooking while on vacation. The microwave died on us, but within 5 minutes ( no kidding) we had a microwave to finish our meal. Polly is super nice to visit with and easy to reach if needed. We would definitely stay here again. I thoroughly enjoyed reading her book about her traveling around the world for breast cancer awareness. It is a MUST read. Thank you Polly. We really enjoyed our stay!

This property was one of the easiest, cleanest, and quietest places I have stayed. It was located conveniently to shopping and not far from everything else you would want to do in the Denver area. Polly made us feel so welcome. I would recommend this place to everyone

This was a great place to stay provided you are not interested in cooking your meals. There is no oven or range-top or hotplate. But there is a small microwave and toaster oven.
The space is roomy and clean. Polly is quite helpful. We enjoyed our stay here. It is a block away from food shops, with ample street parking. It's a bit far from downtown if you don't have a car. We did, so that was no problem.

"The Nest" was a wonderful place for my husband and me to stay while visiting our children who live nearby. The space is bright, roomy, and cheerfully decorated! We were so happy to find this convenient rental that is clean, comfortable, and provided all we needed! We hope to be back soon!!
