Beautiful historic building with plenty of character.

The staff were friendly. The room was big and airy. The bed was comfortable.
Having to shower in a bath (I have mobility issues).

The location was great.
The town/area was nice to walk around.
Parking is great within hotel grounds.
The room was clean and comfortable if a little tired and dated looking.
The bathroom taps were very tight to use and the shower was not very strong because the water when switched to shower from bath still poured out from the bath tap.

Location was excellent with a spacious sheltered beer garden to entertain company.
The building has great character.
The bar area where you order meals/ drinks is frequently unstaffed and you have to wait patiently for staff to arrive from other areas. The staff did not seem motivated or enthusiastic about being there.
I entertained some guests in the garden (one of whom had Huntingtons, a neurological condition).
The staff assumed he was drunk when he ordered drinks and were diffident towards our group because of this.
He was later refused service. When I explained the situation to management they acted quickly and spoke with the team but it soured our experience.
It's a shame because I have always loved the character of the Bell 🔔 Inn and it's place in the community.
