Location is fantastic, nice leafy residential area. Felt very safe during the day. Couldn't be closer to a Tube station, literally on your doorstep. Located on Finchley Road so an abundance of shops and food places of all kinds all within a few minutes walk. Cinema right around the corner.
The little interaction I had with the staff was fine. No issues there.
Room in the basement was quite big, almost split into two with one half being the bedroom and the other half being the bathroom and a small area where the built in wardrobe was located. Very happy with that.
The first morning (Saturday) that I went for breakfast, ordered a cooked full english at 9.15am. By 10am I still hadn't received it and when I asked what was going on I was told there was still one other order ahead of mine.
Unfortunately I had to be somewhere else by 11am so had to cancel the order and leave. Another group at the table beside me were also experiencing a long delay in being served.
I appreciate that things get busy, but at least you should be told if there's going to be a delay when you place your order so you could have chosen an alternative. As it was, I had to leave without having anything. Because of this experience, I decided not to bother with having breakfast the other two days of my stay.
I would say the area felt a little bit dodgy at night when coming back from a night out.
Absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the hotel itself, but there was a very strong smell of weed in the streets outside the hotel at night also so that might be something to consider (can't stand the smell myself). But this was only outside, nothing inside and nothing to do with the hotel at all. Just the area.
Adjusting the heating in the room could be better explained as there was nothing in the visitor guide about it (you have to adjust the heat level on the radiator itself).

The room was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel is well placed near Finchley Rd, with the bonus of the Hampstead Theatre virtually next door. The Persion restaurant on Finchley Rd is excellent.
Breakfast was rather rushed.

Staff were amazing and super friendly. As a single traveler i was given a twin room understandably. however being a big guy i cant sleep in a single bed. the staff were super kind and swapped out my room. I called reception with a broken iron complaint and they brought me a brand new one.
The staff were all super friendly and very accommodating.
I liked the fact the little girl was allowed to practice her piano. Most hotels would be funny about guests using the piano.
room was very tired. wallpaper peeling from the walls.
Carpet badly stained.
Shower plug was backed up so when showering the bath filled up.
The tap's faucet in the sink hasn't been descaled or scrubbed so when the tap is turned on the water goes in various directions. also when the water is running in the sink the bath plug has water that comes up in it with a weird gargling noise.
Iron was broken and poured water all over my shirt but that was resolved.
No late evening menu.
