Exceptional

wow, stay here! it’s beautiful and clean, the staff are wonderful and go above and beyond. they offer some 5 star service perks while still keeping the vibe laid back and relaxed. the pool is big enough that you can relax quietly on a sun lounger ever when it’s busy. the restaurant is good and the rooms are soundproof. as a solo female I felt very safe and comfortable. Will absolutely be staying here again, can’t say enough good things.

Beautiful modern hotel, with laid back surf vibe.

Beautiful hotel, a short walk away from the beach. Rooms were great, lovely decor, comfy beds, very clean. Salt water pool and short walk to hotel surf club, where you could rent boards and arrange lessons. Food was great and staff all very friendly. Laid back atmosphere and great restaurant.

The kids complained that the pool was too hot!! The only downside was the hotel was open to the road, so anyone could walk in, so had to be a bit more vigilant of belongings, but all very laid back.

Fun, chilled, relaxing, comfortable, the hotel thinks and has everything you might need and is happy to assist you.

Everything is very nice, very special workers and hotel. We felt welcome at all times, the atmosphere is super chill. The bedrooms are comfortable and big. The balcony is spacious and private. They sent us WhatsApp messages everyday with the times for low and hi tides and other important info. Breakfast was fulfilling and restaurant was good. The beach is across the street, it’s beautiful.

I went for the surfing. Surf club was great! They attendants most helpful.

Didnt eat dinner there, But, breakfasts were the best. Staff was alwasy courteous. Ceasar was such a great kid, Ami at the desk was so smiley and nice. All the girls were and the guys just great. Even the guy cleaning the pool at 5:30AM was super friendly. Love them all .

We would easily stay at this property again.

convenience as far as location and lay out of the property. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. The surf club was great. The maid service left the place feeling very clean.

Many of the wait staff were extremely slow to get to tables. So when you have an adventure planned, you find yourself with anxiety to get your breakfast before you have to leave. I also don’t think they should give you a bill amount for breakfast when it’s included. the next hotel we are staying in has us signing a $0 bill for breakfast which makes more sense and they serve the items like fruit and breads which are included. The Guilded Iguana only served fruit when asked because they say people waste it but no one asked us if we even wanted it and it took days for us to ask about it to figure it out. I didn’t care for the trouble the stores attached to the 10% discount for the surf club membership gave to use the discount. It is not that much of a discount for them to make me stand there only for them to tell me the discount only applies to the monthly membership. No one that stays at the Guilded Iguana needs to have trouble over a mere 10% discount or have them say, “This item is included but not that item.”

Pleasent stay in Costa Rica

property very clean, organised, staff was nice!

has some issues with billing, location right outside the hotel smells and staff went to my room 8pm to give towels when I was already in bed (a bit too late)… nothing serious but enough not to give highest rate!

Perfect stay for couples, family, groups.

Wonderful central location. Friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. Surf club is a plus. Nice food and bar.

The desk staff is super friendly! But sometimes seems bit overwhelmed. Like you have to ask for basic requests a few times (a dinner reservation, a taxi, a room issue) to happen/be resolved.

exceptionally tasteful, elegant and intelligent design of general layout and rooms, photos don’t do it justice. also very central to the whole Playa Guiones community.

information was not always clear or forthcoming from staff, especially restaurant staff. it took us several days to figure a few things out. poolside staff (Cesar) was wonderful!

it was exactly as it looked, the rooms were so clean and airy, the shower was fantastic, the pool was right outside our door, the hotel shop was gorgeous and the staff were really friendly and helpful. we had two weeks of crazy sightseeing before we got here and it was the perfect place to unwind and chill out!

not really the property’s fault but there is a slight gap from the bathroom out to an outer garden area and we had an unpleasant large spider visit one night as I got out of the shower. got the fright of my life but staff reacted quickly and cleared

Beautiful hotel! The design of the rooms and grounds is just gorgeous. The staff is professional and can assist you with everything one might need. They have a whatsapp service which provides you with weatherforecast and information daily.

Clean, comfy, relaxed and the restaurant has delicious food all day.

The staff is exceptional, very professional and super friendly. The property and rooms are very clean and just on easy block to the beautiful beach. Book your surfing lessons with Steven - he is so easy to get along with and made the experience amazing!

We loved everything about this place!
