Not recommended unless you don't have another option.
Well, the best is the price, it is really cheap. And therefore you basically get what you pay.
When I first entered on the hostel, some cockroaches were walking on the wall, just behind the receptionist... The place wasn't so clean... There was no hot water, only in 1 shower.

A hostel in the heart of mumbai but good for single rooms.
I arrived in Bombay without booking because most of the hostels have many beds(around 30) and I know that,s not good under any circunstances. The bus from Udaipur left me in a horrible place, around 500 mts from Victoria terminus so I walked around lookin for a place and they were about 3.500 rupees. I went to Victoria (was midday) and I was sweating because Bombay is hot and humed. I looked in google maps for hostels around and saw this one " one step". I book a single room for 900. The locacion is very good, a litle more than a kilometre from Victoria and 150 mts from Bombay gate and Taj Mahal hotel. It,s located in a four floor (climb 8x15=120 steps). The door to enter the building is almost hidden by the shops around. There are 2 more hostels on first and second floor (one of them costs 3.000).so the single room is small but enough for one or two people, is clean and thereare like 6 cubicles between showers and toilettes, wich is a good plus because always you will find one empty. I don´t recomend the dormitory in any hostel in Bombay. In this place it looks gloomy and dark. The guy at recepcion is nice, don,t speak much english but understand your questions. K.F.C. is 40 mts away across one street, also a McDonald and many shops selling mostly merchandise.
In general ws o.k.for a few days

Disappointing
location is perfect Price is good. There is no the same price in that area. Even the famous Red Shield has higher price with more dirty rooms and without Wi-Fi.
Unfortunately staff don’t know anything about service. They may be nice people and if they would like to have more foreigners guests and not only local tourists they need to be more educated. Room is big and many people are there. I guess these are about fifteen people in the room. Majority Indians. I get it’s hostel and it’s common room but they get up very early, some of them about 6-7 am and it’s common for them to talk on phone or talk to each other so loud without thinking that someone sleeps in this time. Staff turn off the light at 3 am if you don’t ask them for switching off earlier. Every time you have to ask for it. Wi-Fi is bad. It’s very dirty in toilets. Cigarettes are thrown everywhere there. Every time you come to any restroom there and floors are wet. Of course there are not soap and toilet paper there. There is no fresh air in a room. There is no window in the room. Only front door is opened in daytime but at nighttime staff close it. Can you imagine there are several air conditionings there just above bunk beds. I mean if you get top bunk it will be just above your head. And they turn it on when they want without asking you. But it’s so likely you will be sick after. And every time you have to ask them for turning off the air conditioning.
