This was probably our fifth stay at this hotel. Whenever we are in Poland and visit Zakopane, this is the hotel we keep coming back to. The food is excellent, and I have always really enjoyed the breakfasts, with a great selection and plenty of options to choose from. The location is fantastic, especially if you enjoy hiking, as the hotel is very close to the trails. We have stayed here many times and always enjoy coming back.
The lack of air conditioning is a major downside, especially during hot summer days. It can make the rooms very uncomfortable when temperatures are high.

Hotel very clean and quiet.
Top deck restaurant superb and great value, Polish dishes especially.
Good setting at foot of mountains and close to Tatra trails.
Breakfasts good generally.
Some spa use included in price.
Beds cramped and narrow (not UK sized single), clearly cheaply made and very low for Northern Europeans. Nowhere near as comfortable as should be for a supposed 4 star hotel.
No air-con, though tower fan provided promptly when requested.
Evening buffet meal not great. Choice restricted. Not great value. Ran out of main course I beef stew (very tasty apparently) 20 mins before end of serving time and not replaced - heated up (I suspect) slices of pork or beef (not sure which) in warm gravy put out instead.
Not good enough for 4 star hotel charging 20€ a throw.
[Personal gripe]: draught Polish pilsner beer is now insipid American-style Brooklyn Brewery as opposed to gorgeous local Polish beer we had last time. Polish wheat and Belgian beer on draught.
We paid a lot for what we got and could have paid quite a bit less if booked nearer visit time - not blaming hotel for this.
