An amazing location in the crater, surrounded by cedars, with the friendliest staff you can imagine, spotless rooms, comfortable and roomy, good food and a relaxed atmosphere. 10/10, definitely recommended.

The staff are friendly, breakfast is cozy, location in the mid of the forest.
In booking.com they are titling the Japanese House as apartment which miss leaded me while booking

It is a stunning location tucked away in a beautiful part of the island. The property is very unique and everything was better than we had expected. Exceptional restaurant, and dining.

Location close to Furnas lake
As soon as we arrived, we felt quite pressured to decide whether we would have dinner. We were asked to choose in advance both the exact time and what we wanted to eat. The same happened with breakfast—we had to specify the exact time we would go, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the experience freely.
Regarding the room, we were offered an “upgrade,” but we were placed in the first bungalow next to the reception, with zero privacy since there were no curtains in the living room.
As for the amenities, the bungalow felt quite outdated, especially the bathroom, which was rather old.
The breakfast price was excessive—€20 per person—when in most hotels it is already included. Dinner was also very expensive, and on top of that, we were asked to leave a tip of 10%, 15%, or 20%.
Overall, there are many hotels with a much better value for money. This was a disappointing experience.
