We had a very pleasant stay at Sunny Castle Hotel and, overall, we really enjoyed our 5 nights here. There are many things that make this hotel a great choice, but also a few areas where I believe the Management could make the experience even better.
What We Loved ❤️
The hotel is lovely and still feels modern and well maintained. Our room was spacious enough, very well equipped and had everything we needed, including a dressing area, table and chair, and a table with chairs on the balcony. The bathroom was particularly impressive — large, comfortable and very nicely designed.
We were also very lucky to have a direct sea-view room, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you for that! 🌊
The hotel is also extremely close to the sea, practically on the beachfront, which is a huge plus. The location is excellent if you want to spend most of your holiday by the sea.
The staff deserve a special mention. Everyone we interacted with was extremely young, polite, friendly and always trying to help with a smile. ❤️
However, I did notice something that concerns me: during our 6-day stay, we kept seeing the same staff members working every day. Some of them looked extremely tired, although they were still doing their best to smile and provide good service.
So, a message to Management: please consider having more staff and better shifts. Your employees are fantastic, but they should also have enough time to rest. Happy and rested employees can provide an even better experience for guests. 😊
And now, the food — absolutely fantastic! 🍽️
The food was varied, fresh and very tasty, and we were particularly impressed by the Chef. He actually came out of the kitchen regularly to check whether everything was OK and whether guests were happy with the food. I have honestly never seen a Chef do this so frequently in a hotel. 1000 points for the Chef! 👏
The rooftop/sky bar also has an amazing view over the sea and beach. It's a beautiful place to enjoy the scenery. The only downside is that in the evening it becomes more of a private-club environment, where drinks are paid separately. Still, the view is definitely worth mentioning.
What Could Be Improved 🛠️
The gym/fitness room was probably the weakest part of the hotel for us. It is very small and some of the equipment looks quite old. Since the hotel promotes itself as a spa and wellness hotel, I think the fitness area could definitely use an upgrade.
The TV selection could also be improved. We had only one or two Romanian TV channels, which felt quite limited, especially considering that a large percentage of the hotel's guests seem to be Romanian. A better selection of Romanian and international channels would be a nice improvement.
Having only one elevator for a hotel with several floors and many rooms can also be challenging, especially during busy periods. We sometimes had to wait quite a while.
The parking situation is another area that could be improved. The parking area is shared with the nearby Aquamarine Hotel, and during busy periods it can become quite difficult to find a convenient place.
Finally, the beach area could be better organised. The beach section is shared with guests from Aquamarine, and the number of available sunbeds and umbrellas feels quite limited. During our stay, it seemed to be around 100 places, which can fill up quickly.
For comparison, the nearby Casa di Fiore has a much larger beach area with hundreds of sunbeds and umbrellas. Perhaps Sunny Castle could consider expanding its beach area or increasing the number of available places in the future.
Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My biggest recommendation to Management would simply be: invest a little more in your staff, gym, parking and beach capacity. You already have a very good hotel; improving these areas could make it an exceptional one.

This is our third time holiday at Sunny Castle Hotel, and everything was outstanding. We even celebrated our honeymoon here back in 2018. The staff—from the reception team to the dining service—was highly professional and courteous. As a person with a disability, I felt truly well-accommodated. There is guarded parking, and the beach is very clean with a gentle entry into the water. We were very pleased with Ms. Elena’s service; the room was cleaned daily, and we appreciated the fresh towels and the towel art. We look forward to returning!

The room was very nice. Big room and big bathroom. Everything in the room was nice. The food in the restaurant was not as good as it should be. But the restaurant manager was very kind and they prepared a special requested meal for us.
Our room was on the first floor facing the neighboring hotel, which was very noisy. Loud music till late, also their kitchen was straight in front of our balcony and it was very noisy too. So I don't recommend room 106 or any room on the south side of the building.
