We got a very warm welcome from the host including a basket with goodies. The view along the southcoast and over to Mount Pico from the terrace is spectacular. At the bottom of the compound is a coastal path into the village and to very good restaurants. A very good starting point to explore the island.
The accomodation was basic, which we expected from previous previous reviews and it would need a major refurb in the next years (especially the bathroom)

I loved the welcome basket , the vineyard , the birds, the PEACEFUL beautiful nights and days, the proximity to the mini market, the VIEW, the deck, the dog, the simple vibe, the owners attentiveness, the ability to relax and just BE present. I wish I had the means to help with maintenance because it’s a lot of work there. In need of some upgrades but overall the intent is to just be simple and accepting the nature there. It’s an island and this is an island abode. Plain and simple. If you want luxury this isnt it but if you can wrap your head around just accepting the nature surrounding you, you will be fine and sleep like a baby!!! Clean as a whistle inside. No critters, just a big fun dog!
Didn’t get to taste the wine. I think a vineyard tour and some winery visits would add to the charm here. I would think a farm stay hands on visit would fit this place nicely. Maybe a vintage for the visitors in late August September for those interested , LIKE ME!!!

Beautiful location with breathtaking views. The chalet was simple with everything that was needed for a peaceful stay. The natural pools were only a short walk away - the cement footpath along the cliff was a surprise and made the walk really easy.
The access road seemed challenging at first but soon got used to it!

View was amazing! The owner is kind and shares some ideas on hikes in the neighbourhood.
There was mold inside the bungalow, the electricity went out very often and the shower was cold.
