Location was great and parking too
It was dark in the hotel itself but we were expecting that

Liked having free parking space close to the centre. It is a good spot, away from the busy city centre, but still walkable. Volcanic rocks as clothes hook were also a nice touch (very geologist-friendly)
The shower heating was a little hard to control (room 317). Some drivers don't know how to park, especially in tight spaces (hope the hotel staff check or at least tell their guests to be aware of the space). I also didn't like the lighting in the room's, harsh white lights.

Skuggi Hotel is in a great location, offers a superb breakfast, and is one of the few hotels in downtown Reykjavik that offers indoor parking. The staff we very friendly and overall the experience was excellent.

The very limited parking available and the location are this hotels' main attributes. The breakfast was also fine.
The decor of the hotel is dark and dingy, it remined us of a cross between a backpackers and cell block H. The room was a decent size but lacked a wardrobe or anywhere to put your case to open it. Paint was chipped of what furniture there was and the architraves, giving the place a run down look. What with the very dark decor it was quite depressing and I'm glad we were there only 1 night. It was also the second most expensive place we stayed which was also disappointing.

"Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location was not in the middle of town, but definitely walkable and was good because you didn't hear any commotion from bars or traffic. Very convenien..."
