Hotel Phoenix is a hidden gem! Its location is perfect. Close to all the things you want to see and do but far away from the noisy and all night bars. The hosts were the best!! Very informative and happy to help. My room was huge, clean and super comfortable - I was a solo traveler so I was so surprised by my lovely room!! And turn down service at night with a chocolate on my pillow. I had breakfast included- and on my last day I had to leave at 5am - so they made me a breakfast to go! How thoughtful. Hotel Phoenix was the perfect ending to my visit to Iceland. 🙏🏻❤️
This was not a negative for me! Breakfast was wonderful! But if you are Vegan or Vegetarian- you may want to check with them in advance as the breakfast is not a buffet. Again, not a complaint - but I know some people have food preferences.

Breakfast was perfect . Although not with 100s of choices , but very nutritious with exact amount of food You need in the morning .
The sound insulation could be better , You can hear , when neighbors coming or leaving the Room . But the hotel is small and it doesn’t happened very often , when somebody is coming . To be fair , You can hear only the doors locking or unlocking , nothing was coming from neighbor Room through the wall .

Excellent and healthy breakfast each morning with enough that there was leftovers for lunch as well. Nice touch to have our bed turned down with a chocolate when we returned in the evening. Location was close enough that we could walk to most any part of the city. Beds were very comfortable.
Would have been nice to be able to drop off our bags upon arrival. And shower was a little tight. And will be nicer when construction is done outside.

Central location in Reykjavik easy for bus tour pick up points, clean room - comfortable bed - decent breakfast...very knowledgeable and helpful owners - 24hr reception desk.
The front entrance is locked 24/7 room key must be submitted every time you leave the hotel.
This is more of a guest house or B&B not like a hotel.
