Such a charming cottage! Well maintained and stocked. Very clean and comfortable. The location is superb, just a short walk to downtown. The host was easy to communicate with. Our stay was wonderful and we would definitely stay again.

Sugar made sure there was everything we might need and checked to make sure our stay was perfect.
Our friend owns the house across the street, so the location was great for visiting with her.
We ate in some wonderful restaurants and saw lots of art and Lithuania Park in full fall colors.

The house is in a great location with everything needed for our weekend away. Neighborhood is quiet and only a few blocks from downtown. Very clean and well kept inside and out. Would definitely recommend this home, great for couples, families or friends.

Lovely property very convenient to theaters, restaurants and Lithia park. Owner was very helpful. We definitely want to come and stay here again.

Cozy, well-equipped cottage has everything you need and is steps away from shops, restaurants and bars. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

We stayed in the front home which is a 4 bedroom, 3 bath unit. It was perfect for our annual family reunion in Ashland. The home is lovely and comfortable. The dinning area is small, but there is room on the front porch to dine if the weather is good. It's a short walk to the theater and restaurants, or to the co-op to buy groceries.

Sugar’s cottage was a perfect spot for me and my sisters and nieces! Centrally located, filled with all of the comforts of home. Sugar was a delightful host! We will be back!

There were seven of us staying here. Four over 50 and three under 25. This location gave us all a lot of flexibility to come and go. No need for a car to enjoy Ashland. Well stock and comfortable home.

We had a family reunion of 8 and found this to be the perfect place to visit and attend plays. Everything was within walking distance and the house was comfortable in every way.

We loved staying here. Great location near OSF and the shops and restaurants downtown. Appreciated the porch lights welcoming us home after the late shows, ice cream in hand.

Good place to stay.

We were three couples and the house suited us so well. Sitting on the porch each afternoon after biking and before the plays was a highlight. Amazing location for walking to the main part of town.

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect home to celebrate retirements and attend a play. The beds were very comfortable and the house was well-equipped. The front porch is so inviting and was where we spent most of our time. My only suggestion is to clarify that the access code will be sent after 1:00 on the day of your arrival.

The property is charming and in a great location which allows walking access to downtown Ashland. The twin beds are on the small side so not really great for adults. The home also had a bit of a mothball odor.

The cottage was perfect for four friends visiting Ashland. Location was great for walking to town. We even had some deer visit us a couple of times. Look forward to returning in the future!

This adorable home was perfect for our family's rendezvous. It is only blocks away from restaurants, Lithia Park, and the Shakespeare Festival. There was plenty of parking for our 3 cars.

We have stayed at the 2nd Street Cottages several times and have enjoyed it every time. The location is perfect, the house spotless and comfortable for three couples. Our favorite part of the house is the lovely front porch, with plenty of space for all of us to enjoy our surroundings.

Wonderful house for a family getaway, walking distance to the theaters and downtown restaurants, and ice skating in the park! Comfortable beds for 8, and a great kitchen and dining area, the only place to improve would be a few more comfy seats in the living room. We’ll definitely be back!

This home was lovely and comfortable for our family of 8 to hang out, play games, and relax. It was our Christmas celebration so we did a lot of cooking. The kitchen had everything we needed. The location to downtown was perfect-we walked everywhere. The space was immaculate and well-maintained. Sugar is an amazing host, very responsive. It was perfect and we would definitely stay there again.

The 4 bedrooms were very adequate and the kitchen very well stocked. There were 4 adults, i toddler and I baby. Sleeping arrangements were great. The sitting area could be improved with additional, more comfortable seating.
We had Thanksgiving dinner sounds on the front porch to accommodate additional family members, one of whom provided a folding table. The weather was beautiful and we had a lovely dinner!

House is lovely and well-equipped. Location perfect for theater, restaurants and shopping. Host was very responsive. Only downside was that in 90 plus heat upstairs rooms were warm, but provided fans helped boost air.

Unfortunately, our trip had to be canceled due to positive Covid tests right before the trip, so I am unable to comment on the house itself. That said, the communication and help we received from Sugar was great. Hoping to get another opportunity to head to Ashland soon.

Comfy and welcoming
Heritage House is charming and adapts well to numbers up to six or eight. In good weather the front porch is a delightful spot for conversations and meals. Clean, well stocked, accommodating.

Wonderful house!
We are four women over 65 from Portland who came to Ashland to enjoy plays, walking, shopping and great food. We each had our own bedroom, 2 bedrooms are ensuite and 2 bedrooms share a bathroom. Very well appointed and decorated. Very clean. Great location - we could walk to downtown, the plays and the Co-op - best market in town.
The owner was very responsive to every question but we really didn't have many. Access code entry was simple and we didn't have to worry about keys.
We were there during the hottest week of the year but the house is air conditioned. The upstairs bedrooms were warm but there are fans and it cooled off at night.
Can't recommend this house highly enough. Hope to stay again sometime!

Another Great Ashland Experience
Our family has been coming to Ashland annually (except for two COVID years) since 1994. We have stayed at all types of places, hotels, B&Bs, private homes. We have stayed at the Heritage Suite at the Second Street Cottages for about five years now. It is convenient, quiet, and comfortable. The front porch is a perfect place to sit, read, converse, and dine. It has become part of our family tradition.

This rental was the cleanest we have ever stayed in!! Communications with Sugar was always answered quickly. The beds were comfy. The house is close to OSF. The neighborhood was quiet...except during the day when a very hungry woodpecker baby high in the tree sent mom to find bugs. Mom [we named "Uber"] flew from tree to tree bring the little guy bugs. She worked hard to fend off the crow who was trying to find the baby. They had interesting communications as mom would not go to the nest while the crow was around. We enjoyed watching the birds! I highly recommend this rental!!!

I've stayed in Ashland for decades -- this is now my top choice. Perfectly outfitted, perfect location, and wow, what a great porch for dining, reading and waving to folks walking by. At night, the beds are comfortable, and during our stay, the neighborhood is quiet. The host has thought of everything!

It's always a great place to stay where each couple has its own bedroom and bathroom. It's so nice to have a gathering place where we can discuss the plays and visit.
