Couldn't ask for a more perfect location! We were able to walk downtown and to the beach. The accommodations were top notch. We celebrated a couple birthdays and had a few guests over the weekend and everyone was comfortable with their surroundings. We were able to explore the marshes with the kayak and set crab traps off the dock and within a couple hours we were able to enjoy the fruits of our labors. We look forward to returning next year to continue the experience.

There wasn't one negative about our stay. The house had everything we needed. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The view was magnificent. Finding a house with a piano was an added bonus. I would recommend this home to anyone.

We celebrated a family vacation during the week of Memorial day. It was our first time in Stone Harbor, and we couldn't have been happier. The location was excellent and loved being on the bay side. The beach is nice too, but it was very windy, and the bay is generally calmer. Also the direct and easy access to the water was excellent. We fished, kayaked, and canoe'd frequently. The house was very clean, well maintained, and we had plenty of space for our group of 10. We are looking forward to it again!

My family has been vacationing in Avalon and Stone Harbor for many years. We have always been beach people - packing up coolers, strollers and wagons and camping for the day at the beach; our youngest builds elaborate drip sand castles, while the two older kids and I hit the waves. We are all swimmers and like the area just beyond the break, but being this far out sometimes this gets us in trouble with the lifeguards. What we all really liked about this house was being able to swim and play in the bay every day right off our very own dock. In fact, I swam across the bay and back every morning for a quick work-out. The floating dock is really big – 8 of us plus a bunch of water toys can easily fit on it – and we did all fit on it most afternoons. We especially enjoyed using the canoe. Beyond the bay, there are many small creeks and waterways to explore by canoe. It would be nice if the owner could also provide a paddle board and kayak! Never hurts to ask, right? The house itself was clean and well-maintained. The VRBO pictures were pretty accurate. The one thing the photos didn’t show was that 4 of the 5 bedrooms have nice water views. The one bedroom without the view is a kid’s bedroom with 4 single beds. The kitchen had all the essentials, including lobster pots, a blender and a Keurig – yes, I like my coffee! There are plenty of TVs in the house, but we tried to stay off electronics. We spent all our meals around the large table on the back porch, enjoying the sunsets over the bay. This covered porch also features 2 great rocking chairs as you enjoy your morning coffee! As you can tell, the bay was the focal point of our vacation. This is a great house and the bayfront location can’t be beat – we’ll be back!

Our family of 12 came from all over the East Coast to celebrate my father's 80th birthday. We were looking for something special for this occasion and this house was perfect! It's a very beautiful home on a gorgeous bay. The grand kids were very happy to have their own room, and all the adults had bay-front bedrooms. We thought we would spend a lot of time at the beach, but the bay kept calling us! It was also easier for my elderly parents to enjoy the calm bay water versus trying to manage the sand and the waves. And the grand kids were old enough to walk into town in the evenings on their own, so they were never bored! Now that we've experienced a slice of heaven, we can't imagine renting any other house in Stone Harbor. Thanks for making our celebration so memorable!

My family of 6 plus 2 grandparents stayed here for a week in the summer of 2014 and had a fantastic time. The house was clean and appeared to be freshly painted throughout. Pictures on VRBO are accurate. Because the house takes advantage of both indoor and outdoor space so well, we enjoyed a holiday together while all feeling like we had plenty of our own space to unwind whenever we needed it. We typically did mornings at the beach which is 3.5 block away and then came back for lunch. In years past (at other rentals), we would have packed back up after lunch and gone back to the beach, but the bay was so delightful (and at least 5 degrees warmer than the ocean!) that most afternoons the kids wanted to stay at the house and swim off the floating dock. The floating dock is really big and the owner has umbrellas available so adults can sit in shade while the kids (and adults) swim. Not sure how deep the water is, but I'm over 6 feet and never touched the bottom so you should take care to make sure children who aren't strong swimmers wear life jackets. We also enjoyed exploring Stone Harbor by water using the canoe which came with the rental (if you go out of the bay into the channel we suggest paddling against the current for the beginning of your trip so that the tide helps you when you are tired on the way home)! But the highlight for my 7 year old was checking the crab trap which we tied to the end of the dock. For about $20.00 we bought one on Amazon that had two tapered funnels where crabs climb in but can get out, and boy was it a huge hit; baited with (raw) chicken legs, it produced a few blue claw crabs every day! After a full day of beach and bay fun we usually had dinner on the outside porch and then made the nightly pilgrimage into town so the kids could have ice cream at Springer's! The best part was, it was an easy walk. Actually, other than the dreaded trip to the ACME for groceries, we could walk everywhere from this house and almost never used the car. Stuff to bring that we found helpful... your own linens (they aren't provided), boogie boards (for bay and beach fun), bikes and bike locks (there were a few older bikes but we preferred our own), flip flops (the sand can get hot!), folding beach chairs and towels, and a red wagon to transport sand toys and little kids. If you own a kayak bring it, but the canoe that is included is really nice too. And of course, don't forget the crab trap!

The location of this large vacation house can't be beat. Just step off the porch and the deck and dock are awaiting you. Swimming and boating are ideal off this very large deck/dock.The beach is within 3 blocks as is the center of town. The town has many shops and restaurants to keep you busy. I would definitely come back again and would highly recommend this gorgeous house. The owner of the property is always available to make your vacation the best.
