1. Exceptional Frontline Staff: Genuine credit and admiration go to every single staff member here, especially the butler team at Villa 65 (Patricia, Bely, and the team). They consistently went above and beyond, worked incredibly hard, and made me feel comfortable and cared for.
2.Chic Cabaret Production: The show itself on Day 2 was fantastic—high-energy, great performances, and wonderful service from the greeters and waitstaff.
3.Grounds & Wildlife: The resort is breathtaking and kept immaculate. Seeing the coatimundis (long-nosed raccoons), iguanas, lizards, and monkeys roaming the property was a true highlight.
4. Dining: For the most part, the food between room service and the à la carte restaurants was great.
1. Severe Illness from Cabaret: A few hours after the Chic Cabaret show, I became violently ill with severe stomach issues (starting Thursday around 2:00 AM and lasting through check-out Monday). Whether it was the food, the high-sugar shots between sets, or the water, being bedridden wiped out my booked excursions and left me afraid to leave the room. To add insult to injury, basic OTC stomach medicine at the on-site shop was marked up to an outrageous $50 for something that costs $8 at home.
2. Unwelcoming for Solo Travelers: If you are traveling solo, think twice. The atmosphere is completely dominated by closed-off couples who avoid interaction. It feels deeply isolating, socially non-existent, and completely unbuilt for independent travelers looking for any community or casual entertainment.
3. Broken Resort Technology: The Grand Palladium app is practically useless. It only works for room service and housekeeping. Requesting a golf cart through the app failed every single time—There are no daily activity schedules in the app either; you are forced to rely entirely on manual WhatsApp messages from your butler.
*A Complete Logistical Nightmare in One Night: My breaking point was an evening where every single system collapsed:
Food: The buffet had virtually nothing edible, leaving me starving. Also NO signs at the Colonial trying to located said buffet.
Misinformation: When asking where to get pesos for an excursion, staff gave me wrong directions, sending me on a frustrating wild goose chase across the sister properties just to find an ATM that actually dispensed local currency.
Failing Transportation: After finally getting cash, the golf cart I caught stalled repeatedly on every minor incline. After 20 minutes of stalling, I had to hike 20 minutes across the complex in the dark—starving, sweating, and exhausted.
Lockout: Reaching Villa 65 near tears, my RFID wristband key completely failed.

Good staff, rooms were pretty
The food and drinks need some work! The food was not up to par for it to be 5 stars. Also most of the alcohol was watered down. Lastly, no fun entertainment - pool parties, etc
