Large room, spacious bathroom, and a very comfortable bed with great pillows. There was plenty of tea, coffee, and water provided. Every day, the staff asked if we needed anything or wanted the room cleaned. There were also three chairs in the room. The staff were friendly, and the hotel is centrally located near cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, and a bus stop. There is a pay-and-display car park opposite the hotel available for 24-hour parking. The hotel also has its own bar and restaurant. They give you your own key to the front door, so you can come and go as you please after it is locked for the night. We stayed superior double bed room.

Room has been recently refurbished, had windows facing in 2 different directions. Shower pressure was good and water was hot. Bed was comfortable. Tea/coffee making facilities were generous an there was bottled water provided also.
Location is very handy.
Hotel seems to be undergoing extensive internal renovations.
My room was the furthest which was a pain, but it was quiet and comfortable so no big bad - its worth noting when bookings are made that this room is not easy to access for older or less mobile folks.
Bottled water provided in room was in plastic bottles.

Now this is where it all fell apart, firstly when i booked this through booking.com,i paid for a superior room, the pictures they were showing us were absolutely nothing like the hotel, they had 114 photos of the hotel and the supposedly superior room they showed pictures of were clearly not taken at the hotel, the supposedly superior room we were given was an average room and looked nothing like the photos they show you on the site, this is clearly false advertising by the hotel and booking.com, when we opened the door of the room it was clearly a letdown as it did not resemble any of the photos on the site, I've stayed in several hotel's and pictures for those hotels show you exactly what your getting, this is the first hotel I've ever booked through this site that totally showed a room that certainly did not resemble it in any form, overall disapointing, so anyone booking their hotel getaway in the lake District be wary of photos for this hotel as booking a superior room is not what your shown on the website.
