This was the third occasion in succession that I have stayed at the Westbank in order to attend our Conference at the Riviera Centre, which effectively says it all for the Westbank, as I wouldn't use any place again if it wasn't good [which was experienced at a main name hotel on the first conference occasion in Torquay].
You get a warm and genuine welcome from Berta [and maybe Chicco her super friendly dog]. Checked in, your room is ready and waiting - and always immaculately clean.
Breakfast is normally from 08.30 however I always needed an earlier time and it was never a problem - and it was always both substantial and very good.
As the website says, there is limited parking [on a gradient, but that's a geological issue], or there are some spaces on the road outside.
If you want to know anything or have an issue, then speak with Berta - she invariably has a resolution to any point made. Hopefully this review will help you come to your own conclusion.

Our stay at the Westbank Hotel felt like stepping into a gentler rhythm of life. From the moment we arrived, Berta welcomed us with a warmth so genuine that the house itself seemed to breathe kindness. She was perfect — attentive without ever intruding, graceful in every gesture, and gifted with that rare ability to make strangers feel instantly at home.
The location is ideal, the breakfast a small morning celebration, and our room offered the kind of comfort that quietly restores you — spacious, serene, with an excellent shower and a bed that felt like a soft invitation to rest.
We left with full hearts and the sense that hospitality, in the right hands, becomes something close to art. Highly recommended.
The only small “nice to have” would be a place to grab some tap water whenever needed — but this is just a detail in an otherwise perfect experience.

Really loved our stay at the Westbank. We had a self contained flat below the main property which was well equipped, very clean and super comfortable. Would definitely recommend to others and we will be back for sure.
