It is a pub restaurant with rooms. The food in the restaurant for dinner was good but starters & deserts more expensive than expected. The room was very basic, bathroom old
Old & tired facilities. En-suite bathroom had shower over bath set-up, not ideal. For the price the room was disappointing

There was a good selection of food which was home made food, nothing fancy presentation wise, but it was good and tasty for both breakfast and dinner. Staff serving were very nice and helpful. The location was great for accessing so much in the area, and routs in all directions. Great location. Lovely walks by the river and beyond.
Lovely area
The hotel is dated and smelt old. I was disappointed with the room which was also very dated and tired, and all on a slope. The bed on my side had a dip in it so when I turned over I felt I was falling out. Overall it needs a good make over. I booked a dog friendly room on booking.com but when I arrived was told I had to pay £28 for my dog and if I had booked directly I wouldn't have to pay for this again! I was not happy. Paying for parking was another £5 which everyone was taking exception to and there were calls from previous guests complaining of getting parking tickets. The man on reception was curt and I witnessed him being particular rude to an asian man with limited English as well as a German party. His manner was unacceptable. Another member of staff would have helped as he was checking in guests, dealing with the bar, and serving dinner. Bookings for dinner and breakfast times were rigid to suit him, there were lots of spaces available, and due to his lack of flexibility he lost a family group as he wouldn't accommodate them. There were a lot of foreign tourists and I felt embarrassed for them.
This all took place in a small bar reception area where everyone could witness.
