A pleasant hotel, but far from being great

I appreciated the friendly and welcoming staff at Pestana Hotel, which contributed positively to my experience. The location of the hotel is really good and the rooftop is really charming with great views of the Copacabana beach. I thoroughly enjoyed lounging there, relaxing with a drink, and soaking in the breathtaking views.

I was disappointed by maintenance issues at the hotel, including a lack of upkeep in the lobby and a decline in amenities compared to the previous visit from just a few months prior. Additionally, I noted a lack of greeting upon arrival, as no one has even helped us with the luggage, when we stepped out of Uber, suggesting a decline in the hotel's overall charm and attention to details. Moreover, the breakfast service was marred by the hurried approach of the wait staff who clear utensils from tables without consideration for whether guests have finished their meals or not. It's frustrating to step away briefly, only to find upon return that your table has been cleared out prematurely. Secondly, despite Pestana's international status, the breakfast offerings lack any notable international tea brands. The tea selection provided falls short of expectations, offering subpar options that fail to impress. So, if you are a tea drinker, like myself, bring your own tea! Lastly, the ambiance of the breakfast area could be greatly improved. The tables appear worn and outdated, with mirrors that come across as tacky and uninviting. Furthermore, the air conditioning is set too cold, making the dining experience uncomfortable. A more balanced climate control would enhance the overall dining atmosphere.

Hotel genial, ubicacion perfecta.

La persona que nos recibio en recepcion un encanto de mujer, gracias a ella pudimos olvidarnos de otra experiencia horrorosa que nos ocurrio ese mismo dia con otro alojamiento. Personas asi hacen que un hotel gane todas las estrellas que tiene.

La habitacion estaba en general muy bien, el aire funcionaba, toallas limpias , lo unico el suelo un poco sucio, algo que es mejorable es resto muy bien.

Me cobraron al salir no sé 7 reales por día aparte me cobraron 123 reales de supuesto minivar que no se usó y me querían

La calidez del personal y la buena atención, todo siempre limpio y rápido, personas atentas y con buena disposición, las instalaciones las tienen muy lindas y volvería nuevamente.

Keep attention with with hotel!

Absolutely to be avoided! I stayed 11 nights, the last night (I don't think it was a coincidence, they probably knew I would have my flight home soon), my phone was stolen from the hotel room, the only people with access to my room was the hotel staff. I went to the police by myself and at the front desk no one offered to help me in any way. I contacted a lawyer to get reimbursed because the hotel is responsible, but they said that they could not do anything. ¡Absolutamente a evitar! Me quedé 11 noches, la última noche (no creo que fuera una coincidencia, probablemente sabían que iba a tener mi vuelo de vuelta pronto) me robaron el teléfono de la habitación del hotel, las única persona con acceso a la habitación era el personal del hotel. Fui yo mismo a la policía, en la recepción nadie se ofreció a ayudarme de ninguna manera. Me puse en contacto con un abogado para que me devolviera el dinero, ya que el hotel es responsable, pero me contestaron que no podían hacer nada. Absolutamente a ser evitado! Fiquei 11 noites, na última noite (não acho que tenha sido coincidência, eles provavelmente sabiam que eu teria meu voo de volta em breve) meu telefone foi roubado do quarto do hotel, e a única pessoa com acesso ao quarto era a equipe do hotel. Eu mesmo fui à polícia, mas na recepção ninguém se ofereceu para me ajudar de forma alguma. Entrei em contato com um advogado para obter um reembolso, já que o hotel é responsável, mas eles responderam que não havia nada que pudessem fazer.

Ottima posizione ma hotel a migliorare

Letto più comodo rispetto ad altre camere nello stesso hotel. Posizione a Copacabana ottima. Personale molto cordiale.

Finitura della camera 508 da rivedere, pavimento rovinato in diversi punti, entrata in bagno parquet completamente rovinato. Tv con segnale debole. Doccia molto stretta. Le camere dell'hotel sono molto diverse tra di loro, ho soggiornato in tre camere completamente diverse, per disposizione e per qualità del materasso. Qualità bassa del cibo in piscina.

Highly recommend for the location and the kind staff.

Having been moved from one room to another because of a problem, I could see that some of the rooms have been remodernised while others are quite old and with spoiled facilities, for example in the bathroom.

Excelente el personal.

El hotel está muy bien, como se ve en las fotos. El personal es excelente. Tuvimos un problema con un nene que se accidentó en la playa y fueron de mucha ayuda, enseguida nos contactaron con la ortopedia y nos ayudaron con todo lo que necesitábamos. Muy agradecidos.

Cudowny widok z okna.Bardzo miła obsługa recepcji(szczególnie Hunbito)przyjaźni pracownicy,zawsze gotowi pomóc.Pyszne śniadanie.Wspanialy basen z barem na dachu hotelu. Wrocilam do tego hotelu po 18 latach przerwy i mam nadzieję,że jeszcze kiedyś będę tam znowu gościć.

Szkoda,że hotel nie ma już wydzielonego miejsca na Copacabanie.

Ensemble correcte et bonne situation

Sa situation et son personnel très accueillant. La literie était bonne

L’hôtel manque d’entretien au niveau des installations, il est un peu défréchi manque de peinture à certains endroits l’éclairage de la chambre n’est pas optimum, le roof top est rouillé par endroit et manque d’entretien . Nous avons subi une tentative d’escroquerie avant d’arriver en recevant un mail nous demandant de payer le montant de notre nuit qui serait remboursé aussitôt pour valider la carte de paiement auprès de l’hôtel.j’ ai renvoyé un mail à la réception mais n’ai pas eu une confirmation réelle que ma chambre était toujours bien réservée. Au paiement j’ai eu un écart par rapport à la réservation de booking!

Construction work started in the morning on my floor infront of my door. I wasn't told anything, which was annoying, as I had planned the day to relax in the room. You can hear everything, also from the next rooms.

A localização é o ponto chave

Localização é sem dúvida o ponto principal, seguido do café que é ÓTIMO e tudo fresquinho, próximo ponto é o quarto, que o que ficamos era bem confortável e o chuveiro bem gostoso, elevador super rápido, não esperava nem 1 min.

Achei estranho os corredores do quarto, as paredes estão mofadas e o piso sempre sujo (porcelanato é assim mesmo, deveriam trocar o material) a piscina foi o ponto que mais me incomodou, nos 5 dias que fiquei, todos eles ela estava suja, com muito cabelo, e restos de protetor, a academia ficou fechada, aluguei justamente por ter academia e piscina :( Preciso mencionar os preços das bebidas no rooftop, aonde uma lata de cerveja custa 21 reais, não há motivo e nem luxo nenhum no hotel que justifique esse valor abusivo…

Best location on Copacabana and best services

Everything was perfect: the location, the view, the price, the services. They had services for anything - for tours around the city, taxi, even for medical staff coming to your hotel room for a PCR Covid test, if needed for your flight!!! I definitely recommend this hotel for your stay in Rio.
