This property is spotless. Yes it’s a little distance from the main town but we actually enjoyed the quiet. The staff are amazing breakfast tasty and if you stay for dinner the food is old fashioned wholesome. If you know the show Faulty Towers it’s like being on set of an Italian/German show. It’s quirky and fun

Everything about this family-owned hotel was actually really good—the rooms were comfortable, the property was clean, and the overall setup was lovely.
Unfortunately, an incident with the owner on the second morning of my three-day stay almost ruined my impression of the experience.
Before entering the dining room, the owner demanded that I leave my personal bag outside because he assumed I would use it to take food. I had to explain and show him that the bag only contained my camera and wallet before he finally relented and let me keep it with me.
While I appreciate that he ultimately let me bring it in, being treated like a suspect—especially after already staying there a day—made me feel incredibly uncomfortable and unwelcome. It is a shame, because the physical hotel is great, but the defensive and insulting hospitality almost ruined what should have been a wonderful trip. My first day breakfast and third day packed breakfast were good.

Room was okay but bathroom needed major updating.
Breakfast was okay.
No bar in evening.
In the middle of a suburb with no facilities.
Bathroom was dark and in need of renovation.
Campsite in car park plus industrial area opposite and very busy road.
A long way from town.
