This is a special property - built around the turn of the 20th century by a Tea Ceremony teacher, the entire front wing of the building is an homage to the Abode of Fancy - the Sukiya. A privilege to stay here, having studied tea ceremony extensively in college.
The property is untouched, unimproved, classic.
As might be expected in a house of this age, there is evidence of rodents in the corners, and some torn shoji screens. But this is not meant to be a modern stay in a manicured property - you are meant to feel Jaku - the patina of age, here.

It was the second time we stayed here. We enjoyed everything. A true Japanese experience.
