The location is lovely and a useful stopping place for the NC500. Our room was comfortable and we slept well. The breakfasts were great. We had a evening meal at the Old Inn just done the road - very nice meal.
Steep stairs to room which was a challenge as my husband has walking problems. Otherwise no other issues

Location was good and very pleasant. Room was very good but had one drawback. See below.
My room was, for some inexplicable reason, designated as an emergency escape route and consequently had a green emergency light going all night in my room, making sleep very difficult.
When I pointed this out to the manager next morning and said I had never encountered this situation before, he got very abrupt, said the light was the law and had I contacted him say in the middle of the night, which is when I realized what was happening, he would have come and helped me but since I didn't do that it was my problem. I've never been gaslit like that before. Also I couldn't see the signs for my room as an escape route outside the room.

Great location for exploring near by landmarks. The room and property were comfortable. Close by pub restaurant served some great food.
