Superb

Great quiet location. The owners were very nice and very accommodating. The bedroom was very clean and we had a big bathroom. The bonus is that every room has a little balcony. The pool and the area around are very pleasant. The restaurant has a decent menu and the food was really good. And it's only 5 mn by car from the nearest beach.

A wonderful tranquil week in Sunshine!

It is an amazing guest house, a hidden gem with a lovely and mature garden. Unlike other hotels and villas in the area (majority new development with sterile artificial gardens), this place has a beautiful character and atmosphere, for those who can appreciate. Our toddler was exploring every corner of the organic garden, collected fallen lemons from rich mature trees, observed house martin birds nesting, collected strawberries, saw lots of natural life. We were all very kindly treated by the hosts and did not want to leave! Rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean and serviced every day. Very good, fresh and nicely served breakfast. We worried about the absence of AC in the rooms but in fact, our room was naturally cross-ventilated and had a comfortable temperature. You will also learn from the hosts how to keep the house cool in sustainable way and not to allow the heat in – useful knowledge! The guest house is very well organised in terms of functions separation. We were not bothered by any noise or smells from the restaurant. Things are run smoothly and professionally. Also, we very much enjoyed our dinners in the Sunshine restaurant. Highly recommended! The location is great as it allowed us to visit not one -two but several beautiful beaches and cliffs nearby. Majority a short drive or 20 min walk from the Sunshine.

Our first time in Portugal and Sunshine has set the bar high.

There was nothing to dislike. Everything was more than we expected. Linda and Armani were more than accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. This was the best holiday experience by far.

Couldn’t fault anything from the start of the holiday to the end.

Lovely place to stay over great restaurant.

We were upgraded to a larger room at no extra cost as vacant. The room had double and single comfy beds. It was very clean and we had our sheets changed once in 10 days but our towels were changed when we wanted. Lovely balcony overlooking countryside but great view towards Gale. There is very nice pool and gardens with gazebo for shade. A conservatory as well for the wet day we had with comfy chairs, as well as a very good restaurant which we used most evenings but we went out a couple of times elsewhere for a change. This is a family hotel and the owners are so kind and friendly. They made us totally comfortable. Two waitresses and the cleaner were from Ukraine and appeared to be included in the family.

Nothing about the hotel. It was great. Only thing to mention is it is quite a walk to the beaches, which incidentally are lovely. There is easy access by good steps and they all have beach bar restaurants on them. Certainly hiring a car would be an advantage but not a problem if like us you enjoy a walk. The waves can be quite powerful so be careful with small children. Gale has long beach which is better but these are surfing beaches

Peaceful and perfect

The breakfast was perfect, just enough and lovely and fresh, we don’t normally eat breakfast but this was just perfect

It’s just personal preference but the bed was quite small and hard however it was fine we are just used to a bigger bed

The pool and that there wasnt many rooms

The breakfast was all continental i would of liked a cooked breakfast a few times. I found a hair in my food 1 of the mornings and the staff wasnt the friendliest

Exceptional

Lovely spacious room with balcony and a beautiful view. Comfortable beds, fridge, kettle, television and ensuite bathroom. Linda and Armando gave me a warm welcome, despite my late arrival due to the plane arriving late and a hitch with the taxi.. Armando served a very comprehensive breakfast, fresh fruit, juice, bread meat and cheese followed by eggs cooked to your choice. Lovely grounds with swimming pool and shaded areas. Linda produced some splendid traditional dishes in the evening. Because of the hitch with the taxi when I arrived Linda got up to see me off at 3 am, which was just as well as when the taxi didn't show she arranged another one.. Although the Sunshine is some way out of Albufeira it is close to the tourist bus route, which runs frequently around Albufeira, Vilamoura and Olhos de Aqua. with a choice of hop on hop off fares from 10 euros per day to packages of 35 euros for 4 days. A truly enjoyable experience which I strongly recommend. Thank you Linda and Armando.

A Gem in the Portuguese Algarve

A laid back location away from the hedonistic area(s) in towards the town. Always clean. Staff always pleasant. Rafael Beach nearby (better than the one in town off the tunnel). You will need a car and or rely on taxis. That said, I believe this is reflected in the price. We walked in via the Marina on two occasions, talking c.40 mins to the Old Town. I ran it a few times and it's 4km, so not that far. Also, it's quieter.

Best food in Algarve

The owners are very warm and welcoming! The restaurant offers tasty food! Rooms are clean, pool area very comfortable with green grass and lounging areas. Great to bring children or coming as a couple. Very close to main areas.

The double bed was not very comfortable, time to change the mattress, had to sleep other way round to avoid the uncomfortable spots.

Feeling like Home

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at sunshine with really hospitable hosts Linda and Armando. You have everything you need and they try to accommodate the best they can. We went on a fishing tour and brought fishes back and Linda kindly helped us to cook it at its best! We were really impressed and loved it! The place is also situated in a quiet area 10 minute driving to Albufeira and there are many decent restaurants minutes nearby. It was a shame that we didnt have the chance to try their amazing breakfast but we would definitely recommend this little place for a homey stay in Algarve!

if we need to be picky on something, the wifi was rather slow but it was all good otherwise!

Portugal paradise

Armandos homemade gin was beautiful, the home cooking especially the wreckfish was absolutely gorgeous. The hotel was spotlessly clean and location was excellent, I will definitely return next year and my husband is that impressed he is coming with me.

Only that we didn't have a balcony.

Wonderful stay at Sunshine. Linda and Armando are incredible hosts, very warm, kind and helpful. They made us feel at home every day. The food was delicious! You can try there the best homemade traditional Portuguese dishes. The accommodation was impeccable in a super location to visit nearby beaches and Albufeira town. We would come again definitely! Thank you very much for making our stay so great!
