Hotel Niko is a family run small hotel, where nothing is too much trouble for the staff. There is very much a feeling of traditional charm and personal care, long missing in many of today’s modern hotels. There is a beach directly opposite the property where staff are more than happy to provide sun lounges and parasols and although the beach consists of pebbles/stones (bring water shoes!) the sea is quite refreshing on a hot day.
The hotel’s location is away from the centre of old Zadar, so is relatively quiet, but you can catch a sea taxi (15mins walk to the pier) which takes you directly to the old town (8euros return cash). Alternatively, there is a local bus (5mins walk) which will drop you off near to the old town.
Nearby there is a beach bar (separate to the hotel) where sunsets can be watched over a beer!
Our hotel room was spacious, clean with a large double bed. A balcony provided views of the old town as well as a lovely night sky.
The hotel also boasts a well known restaurant, specialising in seafood, to which many locals come.
Car parking is free and if no space in the area immediately in front, there are parking spaces on the road outside, although these can fill up with visiting beach goers during the day.
No dislikes as such but just an observation that there is no lift (elevator) in the property so stairs only to the first and second floors. Staff though very willing to help with luggage.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Especially the lady at the front desk (I forgot her name)

Exquisite looking restaurant.
Away from the city noise but also whithin reach (by cab).
Parking lot is very limited and the street parking is almost always full.
The WiFi was pretty poor.
