Suite was large and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was self service but plenty of staff to assist and good choice of food. Had dinner in the best restaurant one evening; however, food choices were somewhat limited.

Asked for extra biscuits for hot drink in room was told no I couldn’t have any more
Thought the new build added on the the original part of the hotel looked ugly especially when relaxing by the outdoor pool - the lower part of this building needed screening from view around the pool area

Great location only a short train journey from London. Fantastic facilities with a range of activities. The padel court and coaches was my highlight. Every single meal that we had was superb. Incredibly fresh ingredients and super friendly hosts.
Some areas of the property including our room were showing signs of age and could use some TLC but this should not put off anyone from visiting.

The grounds and the building itself are genuinely impressive. Beautiful setting and a striking house.
The room did not match the price. At £300+ a night there was no fridge, and the TV was roughly the size of a laptop screen. Cleaning wasn’t great : a pile of random items had been left under the bed and clearly hadn’t been touched. You’d also expect a room of that price to have a bath, and it didn’t - just a shower without an appropriate screen so water got everywhere. We flagged in advance that this was our mini-moon and received nothing at all, other than a brief congratulations from the receptionist on arrival. Breakfast service was slow on one morning, with a 15+ minute wait on eggs that had to be ordered, and the machine coffee was weak. Staff generally came across as disinterested and spent a fair bit of time chatting among themselves rather than working the room. The setting promises a high-end country house stay and the delivery isn’t really there.
