location and food were good.
service was not up to Condé Nast standards. I booked as I had stayed at a property in Cascais rated by Condé Nast and saw Quinta de Bella vista in that same book. But it was not at the luxury standard and service left a lot to be desired. we had to change rooms because the first night we could hear the next rooms bathroom noises! we were moved but there was plenty of vacancy and this should be avoided. No apologies. No welcome drink, not turndown service and some of food staff were actually poorly trained and rude. I was offered to be sent email for upper management when I complained and never got it

Beautiful gardens with very tranquil surroundings and exceptional views. All staff were very helpful. Choice of dining venues within the grounds with a range of prices. Courtesy bus to/from town centre. Jacuzzi and sauna bookable for exclusive use at no extra charge.
Everything was very good, only 2 very minor comments to make. Limited power outlets in the room for charging phones etc. No soap dispenser within reach of the bidet.

Beautiful and well-kept garden: quiet, full of greenery. Very tasty breakfasts and dinners with excellent presentation — you can really see the chef’s care and the good choice of ingredients.
There was a constant, unusual smell in the building and in the room, with a feeling of stale air. It was impossible to properly open the window: the thick mosquito screen doesn’t let fresh air in and collects dust, which makes the room stuffy. The hotel is full of carpets (in the rooms and long corridors) — they absorb humidity, keep odors, and feel dusty, which is uncomfortable for people with allergies. In the sauna there is no shower nearby — after the steam you have to go outside, which is inconvenient and uncomfortable. The SPA area is not well designed: it lacks a logical flow “sauna → shower → relaxation area” and a proper place to rest.
