The location is perfect for exploring York on foot. The undercroft parking works really well if you need to leave your car - you must book in advance. The front rooms overlook the river and across to the Minster and centre. Spacious bedroom. Plenty of fabulous eateries, inumerate historic pubs and super independent shops. We loved the Shambles and its character and the walk around the old walks is well worth it. Although having to book a time slot for breakfast, the food was freshly cooked and very nice.
Nothing totally unlikeable. Bedroom we had on 3rd floor overlooked the river and across to several quayside pubs. Lovely by day but noisy by night. The more modern Slug and Lettuce across the water had a night club with music into the early hours apart from Sunday, so if you're a light sleeper bring ear plugs - we did, and needed them! Bedroom was very spacious but lacked any power points by the beds - not a problem, but a bit odd. Bathroom was ok with a full bath and overhead shower - anyone with mobility issues should mention this when booking (we were fine). The hotel takes coach bookings so if you want to have dinner be sure to book ahead as we couldn't eat in. It was not a problem as the choice in York was great and we enjoyed walking around. All minor niggles and no real complaints.

The rooms are very clean and are daily kept 😊. The staff are friendly and helpful .
The only downside is that we have stayed there twice before and never really had problems with parking, however this time they were asking for £19.50 to park per night. We ended up parking just out of York on another hotel car park who charged us £11 for 3 nights and a quick £4 taxi trip to the Queens hotel and back.

Have stayed in this hotel a few times due to its perfect location to get into the centre of the city. The staff, as ever, were friendly and efficient. The breakfast buffet has something for everyone. The bedroom was very comfortable. Excellent shower in the room.
Not enough sockets in the bedroom for two people who needed to charge up phones. etc. Only one free socket, although it did have a USB point within it too. The second socket had the telly plugged into it but could be used, if needed, as long as not being watched at the time!!

Excellent location, next to river Ouse, walking distance to the city centre and attractions.
Hotel was clean and comfortable.
Paid parking is available, which was useful.
It is more like premier inn or Travelodge than a hotel. Nothing fancy, just basic stuff including Breakfast. So if you are not looking for luxury and just a clean comfortable stay this will do well.
