Traumhafte, versteckte Lage mit hohem Erholungswerz

Die Architektur der verteilten Zimmer, welche in mehrere Häuschen untergebracht sind, ist sehr schön, der infinity Pool verschmilzt zwischen Himmel und Meer und ist bei Sonnenuntergang traumhaft. Das Frühstück gibt es als Buffet, aber die Portionen der Auswahl sind bereits auf Tellerchen verteilt und es wird wert auf gute Qualität der Lebensmittel gelegt. Auf den Zimmer gibt es jeden Tag frisches Trinwasser in einer Karaffe und 2 nespresso Kapseln. Die Lage ist gut für Ausflüge in den Südwesten und Norden und man ist schnell am Strand von Madalena do Mar. Es ist eine echte Hideaway Unterkunft. Es ist sehr ruhig. Die Zimmer sind hochwertig ausgestattet.

Im Oktober war es überdurchschnittlich warm und ohne Klimaanlage war es in dem Zimmer grenzwertig, ca.26 Grad, es gab nur einen Lüfter, der nachts aber zu laut war. Getränke kann man sich aus einem Kühlschrank gegen Verrechnung nehmen, mehr gibt es aber nicht. Der Frühstücksraum ist relativ klein und eng. Hotels in ähnlicher Preislage bieten viel mehr Optionen, aber haben nicht die Lage.

Great, relaxing place to enjoy your holidays with an amazing view at the ocean.

The rooms are really nice, amazing view at the ocean, very clean and modern. There have been a few issues initially but the staff was trying to present a solution to them immediately. All in all a great overall experience, we can definitely recommend it.

Our initial room was extremely hot with no AC installed. Due to that we were barely able to sleep at night because of the heat (the temperature in the room didnt fall below 32°C at night, despite opening all windows), but Petra reacted immediately and offered us another room, where it was way more comfortable. Other than that, we had no issues.

Fantastic breakfast, everything was freshly made and lots of fresh fruit. Very wellness conscious. Freshly brewed coffee and squeezed orange juice!

We loved the views, the peace and the infinity pool, the location made it easy to visit other places on the island (with a hire car). Lovely breakfasts every day, great restaurant (90 degrees) just next door (with a vegan option). Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was really clean and very comfortable. Incredible sunsets every night from the balcony. Really recommend staying at Escarpa.

Amazing little hotel

Great, quiet location, just out of Ponta do Sol with great views. Sunset views from the infinity pool! The breakfast was amazing with a great selection including home made jam and cake. The host is very nice and we felt very welcome. The 90 restaurant belongs to the hotel, but is also open to the public. You can easily book a table there. Food is great and the staff is fun.

Spectacular property and hosts

This place is the total package -- no photo can do it justice as you are settled into beautifully kept property on the edge of an amazing overlook of the Atlantic with spectacular views (put yourself on the edge of an infinity pool with a huge waterfall falling into the ocean in the distance as the sun comes down). The host Petra and her team are exceptional, they take so much pride in their property and the experience of their guests, they feel like friends! The rooms were clean and cozy and the breakfast was AMAZING. If you have an opportunity to stay here -- do it!

Everything was great, during our stay temperatures were way above average so the rooms were a little warm without AC but opening the windows cooled everything off at night.

Amazing place, very clean, everyone super friendly. Location is a bit remote but after some days and after visiting Funchal, we realized it was much better - more privacy and more raw. lt was just perfect.

Excellent breakfast, breathtaking views that spoiled with mesmerizing sunsets. We arrived earlier than announced and the hosts were able to adapt. Everything was 10/10

It was a little upsetting to see the staff feeling feeling tense. They did excellent work, I hope they have good conditions to relax during their breaks and after work.

A week in Madeira

The views are incredible, and the location is quite peaceful. Every person from the staff is very polite.

The jacuzzi wasn't working properly and the blinders in the room didn't block all the light from the exterior.

Loved Madeira. Loved Escarpa.

The location is fantastic, of course, but what really makes this place exceptional is the sense of community - the staff are fantastic in every way but the key ingredient they provide is an atmosphere which helps produce a community of guests. Our interactions with other guests made this a special stay.

Breakfast was later than we are used to at home, but in the end I suppose this later breakfast helped us to relax into our holiday. It was also essential in creating the sense of community we all shared. Fantastic food by the way - also true of the restaurant which is next to the hotel ands connected I think.

Peaceful, refreshing, a nourishment for the senses.

The small scale of the place, the view of the ocean and sky, the quiet atmosphere and the amazing attention to detail in the superb and very artistic array of breakfast with local fruits and always a little homemade treat. wonderful, polite and attentive staff, room always cleaned whilst having breakfast, so quite unobtrusive.

The steep ascent and descent, but only because we are not so young, and even so we felt the location was worth the effort.

The best place ever

Where should I start ? It is not a big place so it is very calm and quiet The room was spacious and spotless clean, bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is so delicious and various. There is a wonderfull pool with excelent jacuzzi and amazing view (beutiful sunrise and sunset) But above all it is the great staff Everyone is so nice and welcoming and yet very professional And Petra !!! she makes you feel at home (already missing you) No way I won't be back !!

Exceptional

Everything was perfect. The place was so peaceful, situated in between banana plantations. The sunset views are so beautiful. Rooms have exactly the perfect size. The breakfast was probably one of the best we ever had in any hotel around the world. So well done, everyday there would be a special and the ingredients are mostly locally sourced. Highly recommend this hotel.

It would be good to also clean the floor under the bed, it was a bit dusty, but that’s really the only thing that wasn’t perfect. Otherwise, the room and the entire hotel was super clean.

A comfortable, out of the way boutique hotel with lovely views and a lovely ambiance.

The views and ambiance of the place was fantastic. The 90 degree on sight restaurant was a highlight with Abillio and Erica on staff. On site parking was convenient.

The breakfast was good but it would have been nice to have a menu of items you could ask for from the kitchen (ie eggs, toast, etc). We had no idea what else we could have to complement the buffet. We didn’t have all the amenities in the room. We only knew this because we hands friends with us and they told us. We didn’t have bathrobes, slippers, turban, nor large beach towels. The rooms dont have air conditioning but a noisy fan instead.

This Escarpa hideaway is what it says, a complete hideaway and in a stunning location. We are coming back we have fallen in love with Madeira and this place. The staff are Amazing and so is Petra providing excellent service with a fantastic breakfast too. The pool is just epic with views that are breath taking. Please visit.

Superb

It's a stunning location exactly as pictures show. The breakfast spread was delicious every day and staff were very attentive. It's secluded with amazing views and the peaceful surroundings. Each room has good size small fridge and freezer you can stock as needed. The hotel grows its own bananas, passion fruit and these are often with breakfast. The sunsets and star gazing were beautiful.

It could be made clearer there are no options for food in the hotel or attached restaurant between 10am - 5pm.The snacks available are just crisps from an honesty bar with beer/wine/soft drinks but no option to have a coffee or drinks made after breakfast finishes.

Niceish overall but wish had chosen somewhere else for our honeymoon

Nice and quiet and clean.

No aircon- we boiled at night and had very bad sleep every night Also we could never find member of staff when we needed one. it appears no staff after 4pm but when you have been out all day, not ideal. more info for tourists about the local area would be nice. we didn’t find a nice marina area until the last night. LOTS of wildlife in the room - not made better by no aircon so had to have windows open- lots of bites and little lizard type animals you see everywhere shower clogged up every time we used it and flooded the bathroom

The owner of the hotel is just lovely and the hotel itself magnificent. The pool overlooking the ocean is amazing, the rooms have ocean view, too, and the hotel is a real escape from life. Plus the breakfast, which changes everyday, is not from this world. Amazing!!!
