Sleeps 6 Park your car in the garage of this colorful Victorian, and walk to every Pacific Grove attraction from this ideal location right in the heart of town. Dining, shopping, the beach and the Monterey Recreational Trail are just steps away. Built in 1916, the 1,092 sf home was recently renovated to offer modern conveniences along with vintage charm. Views of the Monterey Bay from its second and third floor bedrooms are fabulous and enhance the experience. Exquisitely decorated with antique furniture and accessories, it’s like a trip to Pacific Grove’s past, from the old-fashioned front porch to the stained-glass windows. The home is on a quiet lane, that runs parallel to the town’s main street. Close to Caledonia Park and three blocks from Lovers Point, it also has a back patio that is partially fenced for privacy. The home is within walking distance of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row, and just a few blocks from the Monterey Bay Recreation Trail, a popular place for cycling and walking. Also close by are the world-class golf courses and restaurants of Pebble Beach®. Other attractions within a half hour’s drive are the natural wonders of Big Sur and wine tasting and dining in Carmel Valley Village. Guests enter the home via a short flight of stairs to the porch, where the front door opens into the cozy living room, with comfortable seating around an electric fireplace and hand-scraped hardwood floors. It’s a perfect spot to watch the 42-inch HDTV and enjoy conversation or a good book. Adjacent to the living room is an antique wooden dining room table with seating for 6. Beyond the dining area is a fully-equipped kitchen with a vintage wooden telephone and a stained-glass window. Kitchen has a four-burner Jenn-Air gas stove, a deep double sink, custom tile floor and backsplash, and solid-surface countertops. Around the corner is a stacked washer and dryer and access into the attached garage. Bedrooms and Bathrooms On the main floor with the living areas, the lower level hallway bath features a vintage clawfoot bathtub with shower, an old-fashioned wooden toilet tank and marble-topped vanity. A curved staircase leads to the second floor. Bedroom #1 has a queen iron bedstead, authentic antique furnishings and light fixtures. Bedroom #2 has a beautifully carved queen wooden headboard as well as ocean views from the window. Both queen beds have new mattresses (2023). The bay can be seen even more clearly from the second-story balcony with cast-iron patio seating. The second level bathroom has an antique vanity with a hammered metal sink as well as a shower with an over-sized shower head, custom tile work and glass door. A vintage ceramic toilet tank completes the décor. A steep stairway from the second floor leads up to a third-floor loft (Bedroom #3) that’s ideal for children. It has a twin day bed with a Sleep Number mattress, as well as an additional twin bed, and ocean views from a slanted window. The back yard has artificial turf, BBQ grill and patio seating. Parking for a small car in the one-car garage and another small parking space in the driveway. Well-behaved dogs are welcome with pre-approval, an additional pet fee and a signed pet addendum. This vacation home is professionally managed by Sanctuary Vacation Rentals. We met our friends and stayed at Lavendar House for the Ren Sport Reunion at Laguna Seca. It was lovely to have a nice place to relax, so close to the beach. We were walking distance to some very nice restaurants. We loved walking on the beach and meeting other reunion attendees. It really felt like being home.

This is such a happy and welcoming home with a timeless elegance yet cozy and modernized for comfort. The host very generously left a delicious wine and cheese that absolutely delighted! The location is perfect, close to restaurants, shops, and two blocks from the ocean with easy bike path access to downtown Monterey. We had an amazing time, highly recommend The Lavender House!

Well-stocked and a cozy retreat with beautiful little accents throughout the home. Stairs were a little steep and all the sleeping arrangements are upstairs so may not be ideal for folks with mobility issues or small children. Our family enjoyed staying here regardless. We had a great time at the Lavender House. The location was great for walking to the Aquarium and running along the coast. Pacific Grove downtown was a short walk away with excellent restaurants and coffee shops. The house was neat and clean.

We loved our stay at the Lavender House! The outside of the home looked so amazing, and in person was even better than the pics! Inside the home was just as impressive and unique / special in every way. The home was also well equipped with everything we’d ever need. In terms of location, it was perfect for our family. Everything was a short walk away, several great restaurants / cafe’s (2 min walk), beach / trails (5 min walk), and all the fun at / around the aquarium (15 min walk). We hope to stay again for our next trip to Monterey / Carmel!!

Sanctuary Vacation Rentals did a great job communicating and prepping us for our stay. The house is in a great location in PG blocks from the beach and downtown. Located on a small alley not really a street and situated facing two commercial buildings. Third floor is not a BR but more of a loft with very steep stairs. Not a lot of kitchen houseware very minimal regarding household necessities, limited pans, BBQ was a huge fire hazard with no drip pan grease dripping through onto foil almost catching on fire. Stairs to upstairs required you to remove your shoes to go upstairs. Loved the location but not sure I’d rent that house again.
