Each room has balcony that overlooks Umekoji Park ~ Magnificent breakfast buffet, not to be missed. - Refrigerator in the room. It’s 5 min walk to subway & then one stop to Kyoto station- nearby local bus stop to get around. Free coffee room and free beer, wine & soft drinks - Pajamas + slippers provided and guests encouraged to wear them around the hotel. Onsen and sauna included, and hotel is child friendly. Brief walk to Kyoto Railway Museum . There’s a ping pong table.

Great location, walkable to the train station. Really nice staff. Great breakfasts and we took advantage of the free Asahi beer and lovely wines available from 15:00 - 21:00 while we we there. Great roof terrace with views of the passing Shinkensen and 5 tier pagoda. Loved the onsen. Big rooms with balconies overlooking Toji Temple. There is a brilliant Asian restaurant a quarter of a mile up the road (towards the station) which has great Indian food at very reasonable prices.
Would have liked more hangers and cabinets. The evening meal menu is very confusing and pricey.

This is an amazing place to stay while visiting Kyoto. The rooms are very spacious and clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a very casual atmosphere- there are plenty of recreational facilities that you can just use in the pyjamas provided by the hotel.
The location of the hotel can be either good or bad depending on what you want to visit in Kyoto.
The breakfast has very few (almost none) western options - omelette or boiled eggs would be a great addition. We didn’t like that we had to pay for parking.

Near park which was great for kids and also near train station. Easy walk into Kyoto station
Additional usage fee for children; activities in the hotel (eg games room) closed during day which was not great; regimented breakfast time slots and poor quality breakfast buffet options
