About this house rental

Nestled in Corolla, this lovely house for $485 per night is a great option for your next trip. Bluewater is large, sun-drenched, and newly decorated! New LVT plank flooring and modern bathroom fixtures throughout, freshly painted, and extra clean! The main floor is beachy, bright, and spacious and an ideal space for relaxing and reconnecting with loved ones in beautiful Corolla, OBX. There are numerous decks with lots of seating, a screened porch with dining table, gas grill, plus a hot tub and hammock and swinging seats in the shade. After a long day at the beach, there are two outdoor showers to choose from. **Please note, we do not provide propane for the grills. Guests are asked to please replace tank after use. Please be kind and do not leave an empty tank for the next guests. Thank you!** It sits on a quiet cul-de-sac in the beautiful Villages at Ocean Hill neighborhood. It is stone’s throw from the fitness center; 15-acre lake; lakeside pool; tennis basketball, and shuffleboard courts; and playground. It is a short stroll or bike ride to the beach-front pool. There is a great view of the Currituck Lighthouse which comes to life each evening at dark. Bluewater is about half a mile from the 4-wheel drive beach access, so you can pack up a cooler and spend the day on the gorgeous, uncrowded beaches. Keep an eye out for the wild horses--just make sure to stay 50 feet away! :) Bedrooms: There are two masters on the second floor with king beds and en suite bathrooms. One of the masters has a built-in desk with printer/fax/copier. On the ground level, there is a bunk room that sleeps four (*please note: max weight on top bunk is 165 lbs) and two additional bedrooms with queen beds. All beds are less than 2 years old and plush. We provide sheets and bath towels for your use, so no packing or renting linens. Check-in: Check in on Friday during the peak season. Get settled and relaxing faster and with less hassle than Saturday-Saturday rentals (when 65-70% of OBX vacationers arrive/depart). Community amenities: Guests have access to two community pools (lakeside, which is very close to the house) and oceanside. Each booking allows for 6 guests to access the fitness center, plus FREE tennis and pickleball court access. Getting to the Beach: Walking (6-8 minutes): Slip out the back door, walk across to Ocean Hill Blvd East, turn left onto Windance Lane, access to beach (and closest parking lot) on right side about 600 feet down the street. Driving/Biking (2 minutes): North on Rt. 12 about 1/4 mile, after sharp turn, turn right onto Headwind Way. Parking lot, ocean-side pool and snack bar are straight ahead. Hot Tub and Pools: There is a 5-6 person hot tub on the second level in the shade under the screened porch (3rd level). We do not have a private pool, but the closest neighborhood pool is within 200 feet of the house and we have usually found it to be quiet and not crowded. Both that pool and the ocean-side pool are large and staffed during the day and include chairs and tables with umbrellas. Our private community pool is open approximately Memorial Day through Labor Day. Dates are subject to change due to weather and/or staffing shortages. Beach gear: The outdoor storage unit includes 1 Burley bike trailer (seats two toddlers), 4 Tommy Bahama beach chairs, 2 mesh camping chairs, 4 foldable beach chairs, 3 small children’s beach chairs, 2 boogie boards, 1 skim board, 2 adult life jackets, 1 youth life jacket, and one toddler (age 2-5) life jacket. What we LOVE about this house: The home has a TON of character and is much more unique than most houses in the area. The open-concept great room and kitchen are filled with large windows. It’s the perfect place to kick back, relax, and recharge. What we LOVE about this location: The Villages at Ocean Hill is a beautiful lakefront and oceanfront community on the north side of Corolla. It is half a mile from the 4x4 beach access and the Currituck Banks Coastal Estuarine Reserve which has a 1.5-mile boardwalk (walking trail) into the sound. It is a quiet area yet still close to everything you need. It is within walking distance to pizza, ice cream, a beer garden, shops, and Corolla Adventure Park (so fun!). You can get around by foot and bikes (recommend renting in advance!) most of the day, but will need a car for grocery shopping and to check out restaurants in southern Corolla and Duck.

We had a great stay at the beach, and the house is generally wonderful. Several things were broken, including bed frames and dressers that were falling apart but the owner told us the people before us broke them and they were being fixed. Overall very clean and lots of great amenities.

The property was as beautiful as the photos. Laura, my host, was friendly and responsive. Details were very much in order. The outside trash cans had not been put out and were full. Trash had been spilled onto the property which I cleaned up. Overall experience was A+. I highly recommend and would stay there again.

Rental is clean and comfortable. Would recommend a few additions like extra towels, garbage bags, and maybe a few spices. There were too many dishes and some not easy to reach. Loved the big open kitchen and living space. We had trouble with the HVAC unit always locking up on us - we had to call the owner several times about this. The bedrooms with the king size beds are quite roomy. The bedrooms with the queen size beds are rather small - not a lot of moving around space. Our stay was filled with rainy days but we found things to do. The owner was super helpful and answered all our questions.

Don’t hesitate book this home! Laura is an amazing guest. The north part or Corolla is quiet and quaint. East walk or drive to beach. Short drive to grocery store. 2 pools to choose from. House is well stocked. Great space, nicely decorated. Everyone in the party enjoyed the different decks, hot tub, and bikes. All the beach equipment was amazing. There is a separate beer fridge and the professional ice maker is a game changer! Our first family trip was a success thanks to you’re amazing home. Thank you!

Our family had a very pleasant time at Bluewater in Corolla. The house was clean and inviting. The layout of the home suited our needs, with two king bed master suites on the second floor, and the rest of the rooms downstairs. The beds were all comfortable, a big plus for for our family, several of them with back issues, It is nice to have a pool just a block away from the house. We had beautiful weather, so ate most of our meals outdoors on the screened porch.

We had a wonderful vacation at this home in Corolla! The owners were very responsive to any inquiries and questions while planning our trip, and even sent a message early during our stay to make sure everything was going well. The house is immaculate- very clean, well cared for, and beautiful. The amenities in the community are spectacular with two pools and multiple access points to the beach. The owner provides parking passes, so we drove the quick drive to the beach simply for ease with a toddler and lots of stuff to carry, however it is walkable and many in our party did walk daily to the beach. If we are lucky enough to travel back to the Outer Banks, we will definitely stay here. Having never been before, we were impressed by the location and the less congested area of northern Corolla. We also found that the Friday to Friday rental really did help with traffic (not being a Saturday to Saturday rental). Thank you so much Laura for an amazing week of vacation!
