Nestled in Ocean Isle Beach, this lovely house for $862 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. **Newly installed UV light filters in air handlers that kill airborne pathogens and bacteria. Located on one of the first canals after you cross the bridge, this 5 bedroom, 5 full and 2 half bathroom home is the perfect location! Just 2 blocks from the public beach access, Fishful Thinking also offers a boat dock, ocean views, canal access, paddle board and kayaks, a fully stocked kitchen, wet bar, and much more. This beautiful home is within short walking distance to restaurants, bars, shops, pier, putt putt, arcade, playground, the town museum, and more! The Ocean Isle community center, which has a public beach access with showers and restrooms, is just a 3 minute walk away. During the summer months, this community center also offers a variety of children's programs. With 5 bedrooms, Fishful Thinking sleeps up to 18 people and each bedroom has its own private full bathroom! The first floor has a master bedroom suite with a king size bed and private bath, as well as a second bedroom which features two 2 queen beds and a private bath. There's an additional master suite located on the second floor, also with a king size bed and private bath. The two other bedrooms, located on the second floor, have a queen and a full bed with private bath, as well as a bunk room with 2 sets of twin over full bunks with a private bath – perfect for kids! Each bedroom has its own TV with cable, Roku, Netflix, Hulu and other TV apps to enjoy. For families with infants, we also provide a pack n' play and highchair. This home is perfect for a multi-family vacation, with plenty of space for everyone! The first floor open concept allows renters to enjoy beautiful canal views from the spacious living room, kitchen, and dining room. Enjoy meals outside on the lower deck or in the dining room which boasts a large table with seating for 12, as well as 4 additional seats at the bar. The TV in the living room is equipped with cable, Roku, Netflix, Hulu and other TV apps. Also located on the first floor is a pantry, coffee bar, wet bar and half bath. Enjoy both canal and ocean views from the upper deck, adorned with lounge chairs and rocking chairs! The upper deck can also be accessed through the upstairs master suite. The second floor has an additional half bath, as well as a laundry room. Feel free to bring your own boat and dock it right outside! This dock can probably accommodate up to a 25 foot boat. Please be aware that at low tide the canal is typically only about 2 feet deep. If you don't have a boat, don't worry, there are 2 kayaks, a paddle board, and floats available for canal use. Fishful Thinking is everything you would want for the ultimate beach vacation, book today! We allow dogs, up to 2 dogs under 65 lbs each for an additional fee. We ask that guests use the baby gate to keep dogs in the downstairs area where the living room, kitchen and 2 bedrooms are located. We also ask that you keep the dogs crated or closed in a bedroom when they are left alone. Thank you for your cooperation! $200 pet fee per dog. Kitchen amenities include a drip and Keurig coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven, blender, crockpot, and mixer. PLEASE READ RULES / NOTES PRIOR TO BOOKING: You must be at least 28 years old to book and if your group is not related, the average age of all adults (not including kids) must not be under 30 years old. NO house parties, prom events, weddings, rehearsal dinners, or any other events of any kind NO Smoking inside or on/around the premise NO fire pits or deep fryers permitted on premise Please note the fireplace is decorative only (if applicable) Please be aware that there are exterior security cameras located on the premises directed towards the parking area and/or entrances for added security and peace of mind. *Please note the 5% processing fee of the total reservation amount is non-refundable after booking* **The dock and canal are meant to be enjoyed responsibly. Please note there are inherent dangers associated with water including drowning. Please be safe and wear a personal flotation device around the water and monitor children and those are not strong swimmers.** In the peak season (Memorial Day - Labor Day), whole house linens and towels are part of the cleaning fee and are included in your reservation. All beds will be made up upon arrival with top and fitted sheets, pillow cases, and 1 set of towels will be provided per person (1 set includes: 1 body towel, 1 hand towel, and 1 washcloth), and a kitchen towel. **In the off-season (Labor Day - Memorial Day), linens and towels are NOT included in your reservation and are an optional additional fee of $275 at the time of booking. You can choose to bring your own linens and towels, or rent through a third party. My family and I rented this beautiful home for Thanksgiving to be near my uncle and for the whole family to be together for the holiday. We prepared our Thanksgiving meal in the large kitchen and we were all able to sit around the dinner table and share stories and laugh.
The home was well furnished and equipped with plenty of dishes and cooking utensils to be able to prepare the meal. There was plenty of space for everyone to sit and relax and enjoy each other’s company.
The property management team was very responsive and helpful with any requests/questions we had.
I highly recommend this place for any vacation. Fits the whole family or a group of friends.
Perfect spot close to the pier, restaurants and a community park.

Fishful Thinking was a great place for our annual Family vacation. Our family has grown a bit and having the extra space really helped. We were comfortable with 7 adults and 3 kids. I think we had a bed or two to spare! The property is right off the main road in OIB and can be a little loud at night especially with the local construction going on in the off-season. Sound machines for the kids helped. We didn't notice the road at all during the day. The walk to the beach was perfect and easy with sidewalks the whole way. The floating dock was fantastic for fishing and kayaking.
The property managers were very responsive and quick to check in on any issues we found. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would be happy to visit Fishful Thinking for vacation again in the future. Thanks for a great stay!

The property management company was very responsive leading up to and during the rental, which was wonderful. The home is plenty big for two families with small kids and a set of gran. And being short walk to the ocean was great.
Biggest complaint is the road noise, which is simply because of where the home is. Being next to 2nd avenue and close to the middle of the island, there is a TON of road noise all the time. It was challenging to talk on the outside decks at different points because of it and our small children were woke up from loud trucks going by. Just know that what you gain in proximity to beach and restaurants you lose in peace and quiet.
The house is fine but could use a thorough cleaning beyond the weekly switchover. The washing machine (front loader) has mold/mildew stains all over it and smells strongly. Was told they tried to clean it and would pass along feedback to owners. It’s clearly been this way for a while. The carpets are fairly old and show lots of wear, which could be a plus since you don’t have to worry ab messing them up. And just overall, the inside of cabinets and drawers need a deep clean (lots of crumbs etc), under certain furniture was lots of dust and dirt, and other minor things like fans being too squeaky to use and the dryer making a high pitch noise when running(with sign acknowledging it works but makes a noise).
Not a bad stay but having stayed all over ocean isle, there are MUCH quieter and better kept homes available.

House seemed much bigger than it was because great layout. Lots of deck space and very well maintained property. Extremely convenient walk wherever you want to go. Host was very accommodating.

This property is conveniently located to beach access and the bridge to enter/exit the island. The outdoor area in the back of the house is secured by a fence. The home is suitable for adults with one large living room area. The kitchen is very well stocked but can use a deep cleaning inside the cabinets and drawers. The mattress in one king room is stained. The property owner was terrific to work with, very responsive and accommodating even during the Christmas holiday. We would definitely rent this place again.

The house is very lovely and very spacey. It has some aging on it but not too bad. The house is in a nice location, a short walk to the beach. My family enjoyed that we could watch the parade from the balcony, which was very nice.
The beds are super firm. We had to search each room to figure out which remote went to which tv, which was no fun at all. I found dirty socks under the bed and there were feathers from the pillows on the carpet. So the cleaning could have been better but we cleaned when we got there like we would at any establishment. There were old stains on the comforters probably because they are aged. The house was equipped with everything you need to get started.
Rob was great to communicate with. He responded to my texts fast. Everyone I talked to in the community was very friendly and helpful. Great customer service.
This is a great place for a large family get-together. I would stay here again.

Perfect!
This house was perfect for spreading out comfortably with family. We loved the access to the dock, fenced yard and the fact that we were able to bring our dogs. Super close to public boat ramp and private airport, and groceries. We will be back.

A paradise on Ocean Isle Beach
The property was location was idle right off bridge, close to eateries, coffee shops and most importantly a stone's throw away from the beach. A great place to unwind and enjoy with friends and family.

Great place for a family vacation
We had a great time. The property was exactly as described and I great shape. We used the kayaks and paddle boards that were included almost every day. The location of this property to the public beach access is less than a 5 minute walk.
Rob was great to deal with. He answered questions immediately and handled any concerns we had timely. We would definitely recommend this property.

Hidden Secret
I almost didn’t write a review because I didn’t want to let the secret out about how great this house is! Perfect location for walking to everywhere. Lots of deck space for lounging. It felt very comfortable and relaxed. We did a lot of fishing off the dock and took advantage of the different ice cream shops! Absolutely wonderful vacation and loved the house. Thank you!

Property was roomy enough for our five adult children and eight grandkids to have a great time! We enjoyed being a very short walk to the beach as well as kayaking and paddle boarding from the dock behind the house. Ocean Isle is very family friendly! The house was very clean and comfy! Wonderful vacation home for large families!
My family had a wonderful stay at “Fishful Thinking”! My large family had everything they needed for a week at the beach. We especially liked ample number of beds & bathrooms, room for everyone! It was clean and nicely decorated. We had all utensils & supplies we needed to cook, clean and even do laundry. We visited the coffee bar routinely, which was perfect for my coffee loving family! The location was great being within walking distance to local stores and the beach. The boat dock was also nice to have for our boat, making it convenient to go out to the waterway whenever we liked without the hassle of loading and unloading a boat. The owner/manager of the home was especially helpful and very attentive and quick to respond to my needs. He immediately took care of a minor sink leak (no fault of his own) and kept a good line of communication throughout the repair process. Overall the stay was excellent and we would definitely refer this house to others. I hope we can come back again!
