Breakfast and dinner was fantastic. There was a large variety of food to choose from and fresh!

Overall a great stay. Solid location close to the Benalmádena marina which is a lovely place day or night. Lots of beach clubs and water sports on the door. Pool area was lovely and plenty of beds. The staff all around the hotel were super friendly!
I would say the pool bar is a little underwhelming and pool side service is a bit luck of draw. Cocktail we did have was top class. Breakfast options were nice but a bit more variety would be nice, starts to feel the same.

We have stayed at the Nautilus on a few occasions prior to the upgrade & it was very good then. The refurbishment is fabulous, we love RIU hotels. The food was excellent as usual, staff friendly & polite, I would recommend to everyone 😀😀😀😀
The outside bar near the pool, a more conventional bar would be good rather than just a hatch.

I especially appreciated the exceptional service and the staff. Everyone was incredibly polite, kind, and genuinely focused on ensuring guest satisfaction. The level of service was truly outstanding and of a very high standard.
Unfortunately, there were quite a few things that I did not like.
To start from the beginning, a few days before my arrival, my assistant contacted the hotel by email to ask whether an early check-in and a room upgrade could be arranged, subject to availability. Unfortunately, we never received any response from the hotel. When I arrived, I was initially told that an early check-in would not be possible, although eventually I was given a room. I am not sure whether any upgrade was provided, but the room itself looked normal. I had already booked one of the higher room categories that was available on Booking.com at the time.
The first thing I noticed upon entering the hotel was a very unpleasant smell of dampness and sewage in the lobby, which created a poor first impression. The room itself, however, was clean and well maintained.
Regarding the food, both the breakfast and dinner buffets offer a very wide selection. However, much of the food is extremely greasy and overcooked, which makes it difficult to enjoy, especially for someone who prefers a healthy diet. The choice of lighter and healthier hot dishes is quite limited.
The gym was another major disappointment. It is very small, the equipment is extremely outdated, and several machines squeak and make unpleasant noises while being used. There is also a very limited selection of equipment. A properly equipped gym is especially important in a resort hotel, as many guests want to continue exercising while on holiday.
I would also like to mention the towel policy at the pool. Apparently, guests are provided with only one towel per person. As I was travelling alone, I received just one towel, which was not even long enough to fully cover the sunbed. The sunbeds have a leather-like surface that becomes extremely hot in the sun, so your legs end up touching the hot surface because the towel does not cover the entire lounger. I asked for an additional but they refused. Surprisingly inconvenient :)
