Ava apartments is a small complex of modern apartments in a great location in central Reykjavík. Please note this is a multi listing property.
A perfect location to explore the local sightseeing, and a stone's throw away from the best restaurants and bars. After soaking in one of the Reykjavik hot tubs, cook up a lovely meal at a fully equipped kitchen and enjoy a drink in the balcony, while experiencing the endless summer days or the Northern lights in the winter.
The Space:
The apartment can accommodate 4 people in bedrooms with double beds. It has a fully equipped kitchen, with modern appliances and all cookware. There are two spacious bedrooms with ample storage and great views over the main city.
Guest Access:
Check in at your own convenience with our simple self-check-in process. Check-in details will be sent via email before arrival, and support is available 24/7 if needed.
Guest have access to their own private apartment and all of it's amenities. The building is code operated and each guest receives a custom code.
The Neighborhood:
The apartment is located right in the middle of downtown on the main street, right by the main church! Here this is an abundance of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. This is a perfect area if you are not driving as every main attraction in the city is within walking distance.
Enjoy a walk in the seaside of Reykjavik and visit the Sun Voyager and Harpa, one of Reykjavik's greatest landmarks. It is a cultural and social center in the heart of the city.
Start your day at Hlemmur Mathöll food hall for an early brunch before you are ready to visit local museums, like the Settlement Exhibition or the National Museum of Iceland.
As you are walking down Laugavegur, you will get the change to buy local souvenirs and visit boutiques with high-end products, most of which are Icelandic designed and produced.
Getting Around:
Most city attractions are within walking distance! There is great pick up and drop off for tours or airport transfer just a few minutes walk away at Hallgrímskirkja, bus stop number 8.
Nearby we have ample bus lines for getting around the city.
Other Things to Note:
Most of the area surrounding AVA apartments is P1 parking zone, which is very expensive. Parking in this area downtown is in short supply but is possible to find, mostly at a fee but there is free parking in the Hallgrímskrikja parking lot.
We recommend purchasing travel insurance for your trip to Iceland, which covers issues as delayed baggage, travel accidents, weather trip cancellations and emergency overseas medical. EU members can use their European Health Insurance Card in Iceland (medical expenses).
We have cameras monitoring the common areas of the building and front doors, for your safety.

Bookng and communication with host was easy and quick. Check in instructions thorough and accurate. Location fabulous in heart of Reykjavik, on the Rainbow Street.However, asked for earlier check in time, advised to message o day of arrival, which i did. Was told they would let me know and would prioritise cleaning. Check in did not occurs until 3pm exactly. Also, bayhroom needs a good clean and paint job. Filthy, mouldy walls. Pictures inline are inaccurate. Rest of apartment is great, eell euiped. Would stay againdid.

Nice apartment in great location within walking distance of everything in Reykjavik. Having two bedrooms was great and kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. Bathroom could use an update. Living space was comfortable. Overall a nice stay.

I usually am a fan of the 5 star review even when things aren't perfect, because nothing is. But this property had a couple of big problems you need to be aware of. First the good .... the location I amazing amazing amazing. It's a 10 out of 5! Also, the beds and bedding are top notch. But on VRBO it shows that the large double bed can be separated into two twins upon request. However, BEWARE, this is not an option! Luckily the couch turned out to be workable as a sleeping surface for one of our understanding friends but this could have been a HUGE problem. And even though they promised to bring us extra bedding for the couch, they never showed up during our 3 night stay. The next problem is the WIFI is terrible. It is inconsistent. I used mostly cell phone data while I was there because you could not rely on the wifi and waiting for things to load was frustrating. Overall Iceland has great wifi, so maybe you can put up with it at your apartment.
Overall it is super bare bones and missing the practical handy things most VRBOs have. Kitchen stuff is minimal. Another example there is only 1 bedside table in the big bedroom even though there is room for one on the other side. There is no place to put your suitcase except the floor, even though there is room. Why not at least have a folding option available? Bedroom 2 is tiny but has a great balcony. There was a broken window and rotting soup in the teakettle, but otherwise quite clean. Location makes up for everything!!!!
