Handy to airport. Pat was a wonderful host, with detailed info through Whatsapp. He speaks great English and when we were staying, we discussed lots about Ecuador. Picked us up from the airport (USD7 each way) and let us leave our luggage there while we went to Galapagos. Good breakfast included and a simple dinner menu at reasonable prices. Room was clean and of reasonable size.
A bit out of the way location (but perfect for a stopover). The room is very basic and is in their house. Although this was not an issue for me (and they certainly didn't invade our privacy), it is not for everyone. Toilet paper cannot be put down the toilet.

Staying with Pat was a highlight to our trip to Quito and Ecuador. My cousin and I are single women, and having a host who is VERY responsive and helpful gave us the confidence to make safe and good choices. Pat was very prompt and helpful in his responses as we sought information on getting to Mitad del Mundo (Middle of the World 🌎) and ro Quito Historical Center. Getting around in Ecuador is not simple... between changing buses, long mountainous rides and early curfew for safety, touring time is cut short. We arrived early in the morning and Pat picked us up at the airport for the agreed $7 airport transfer. He offered us breakfast as a bonus so that we were well fed before our Mitad trip. We opted for a private tour by him as we didn't want to be stranded in Mitad without a return ride. Yes you can take the bus but that would take 3-4 hrs total out of your day. Pat waited patiently for us as we enjoyed both the monument and the museum. Pat is a wealth of information being fluent in English and German as well. We also enjoyed time spent with other guests. We ordered a pizza from.his Kitchen for $10 and a bottle of Chilean wine for $8. His beds and room were comfortable and clean. We had a very late departure the next day and he let us store our bags for free until we returned in the night and he gave us a ride to the airport (prearranged $7 transfer). We thoroughly enjoyed our time at his place and HIGHLY recommend to any solo travelers or non-Spanish speakers. His property is also gated and secure.

I have to call out the bizarre decoration , a life-sized political dummy a carton dummy placed right in the front window. From the outside, it genuinely looks like a scarecrow, and from the inside, it makes the space feel tacky Hotels are neutral ground for travelers, putting a political statement on display is unprofessional
