TWIN DUNES is Kinnakeet Shores' closest oceanview home to the ocean and one of very few oceanview homes where the kids can get to the beach without crossing a subdivision road. Spectacular ocean and sound views, the quiet cul-de-sac location, combined with the owner's attention and care, have kept TWIN DUNES an ideal vacation destination. The 1st level has four spacious bedrooms, two baths and a separate laundry area complete with an iron and ironing board. The 2nd level has a warm window lined beautiful great room with tall wood beamed cathedral ceiling and a long spacious deck posed directly oceanfront, perfect for sunrises and catching some rays.The kitchen, breakfast bar and dining area are equipped to the nines. A half bath is located on this level. Come and discover TWIN DUNES...well, you might just find you need TWIN weeks. You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically. This property is managed by Vacasa North Carolina LLC Please note: Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on weather. If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the nightly pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting "Yes" to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The nightly fee ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 4 vehicles. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

This was our first time staying in Avon. Have been booking this week for awhile in various places. The house is in an outstanding location; not ocean front but fabulous views and just steps away from beach access. Was so happy to find an affordable house that is pet friendly. We rescued a sweet little hound in the Spring that is afraid of everything that by weeks end came away a different little guy. So happy he was able to meet and greet other dogs and people. Communication with VRBO/VACASA was so easy and timely. We received notice in the afternoon that we could check in early. So appreciated. Communication prior to our visit and while we were there was again timely and much appreciated. The lift outside was a delightful surprise given the number of steps accessing the house. We found the house delightfully clean and equipped with everything we needed including a starter supply of paper products, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. There is a deck outside of the first floor where bedrooms are located and someone had left cigarette butts in an ashtray. Not so pleasant but we took care of it. Only other thing we found was cracks in ice cube trays in the freezer; again, no big deal. We did not use the hot tub but having the option was great. The weather was terrific! Highly recommend!!

This house was in a great location! It had a nice long driveway which made the house sit back in a little further, so the property felt more private. The beach access was just steps away from the driveway!
We were very grateful to find an affordable house that is pet friendly. The house was also very cute inside and you can tell there have been upgrades done to it. The kitchen was fully stocked and had anything you needed for cooking/cleaning. We loved the lift outside the front door to load most of our belongings to get upstairs. The kitchen/dining/living room area was big and had an open concept. The hot tub is on the top deck with an amazing beach view and we loved sitting on the deck at night. There is also a shopping plaza a minute drive away from the property, which was very convenient.
Some cons: We were a little disappointed we didn’t get into the house any earlier than 5pm. And when we arrived to the house, the code I was given did not work and it took an hour to get a new code. Also, some of the jets did not work in the hot tub.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Avon and this property was very nice to enjoy for the week!

This was our 6th trip to OBX and we usually stay in Avon. We always share a house with my brother’s family. There are 4 adults and 4 kids ages 11-16. This house was the best we’ve had so far. It was very clean and literally had everything we needed to make this a perfect stay. The walkway to the beach was basically at the end of the driveway so it was only about a 3 minute walk to the beach. There was a nice view of the ocean from the living room as well as the hot tub. It was also great that they supplied beach chairs and a nice umbrella. Also loved the area with the volleyball net which provided some extra fun for the kids. I would absolutely recommend this rental! Thanks for making this another memorable OBX vacation!

Tge home is absolutely beautiful but upon arrival, beds were not made, bathrooms uncleared, and dirty dishes in an opened dishwasher with cockroaches that did not slow down the entire trip. So sad because we have stayed there before and it has been clean.

Upon our arrival our exportations were not met due to the cleanliness of the living space and the conditions of the sheets and comforters along with the infestation of ants, spiders and 2 huge cockroaches. The fitted sheets were torn on a couple of the corners and were not useable and which made the other corners pop off. The comforter in the orange bedroom had visible well chewed bubble gum stuck to it. Which was a very good indication it hadn’t been cleaned. The floors appeared not to have been swept or vacuumed along with the windows being so dirty you could hardly see through them. We had to purchase ant spray and ant traps for the kitchen and bedrooms and couch. Ants were actually crawling on the curtains.
A safety concern was…. no lighting where we parked and the outside area at the main entrance.
We had intermittent cable our entire stay and the last 2 days we didn’t have any cable or internet.
We have vacationed before at the OBX and never had this experience. It was very disappointing to us. Especially since this vacation had been planned for months and everyone was so excited for this trip. We thought for the amount we paid for this rental it would have at least been clean with useable amenities.

There was a great view of the ocean as well! The house was also in walking distance to food Lion which was really convenient. Would stay again!

The place seems to have been updated, nice appliances and comfortable furniture. Beach access is literally just out of the driveway. The only "but" I would add is that this isn't a true "by owner" as its 100% managed by a property mgmt company. We like dealing one on one with owners thus why we use VRBO. This property mgmt company was not responsive at all. In fact we sent emails with reasonable questions to better prepare for our visit and they literally didn't even respond. Had another question on day 2 so I left voice messages with both maintenance and customer service...once again, no response. Super frustrating. With that said, we do hope to stay here again, but really would like to deal with the owners.

This large beach home was not only beautiful from day one but it had any amenity we could have asked for. Very well stocked, clean home! Always such a blessing when we can take our two dogs with us to make our vacations even more memorable.
