Great location, walk to Nijo Castle , train station across the road or 5-10 min taxi ride to shopping area snd Geisha district
The room we picked for 4nights had a low ceiling height and poor view from window(not private). We tried to see if we could pay for upgrade so we could look out onto the street but was advised all rooms were taken.

Big room, big bed
across the road from the station might seem good but the hotel is far away from any of the main spots in kyoto. There’s nothing in the surrounding area. The room had marks all over the wall and the AC was dripping water onto the table. How is this a 4 star hotel?? when i went to reception to ask about luggage forwarding from the hotel , i didn’t understand what to do as i’ve just been doing it from 7/11 the whole time. The two guys at reception started speaking japanese and literally laughing in my face? 🤣 On the day i was checking in one of the guys was visibly getting annoyed talking to a lady who was asking about something & raising his voice. However, the female staff were lovely and actually looked like they wanted to be there. The convenience stores are across the road in the station close at 11:30pm :)

Great room and amenities. The location was convenient and is directly across the street from the train station. Plenty of places to eat, however, a lot of the locations do close early.
