Lokalizacja obiektu jest świetna. Z hotelu do laguny prowadzi prywatny pomost, z którego można podziwiać wschody i zachody słońca. Jest blisko do licznych restauracji i małych sklepików. WiFi dobrze działa.
Ogromny minus to bardzo nieprzyjemny zapach z toalety. Wydobywał się nawet pomimo zamkniętych drzwi. Były to tak intensywny „zapach” detergentów, że zakłócał nam wypoczynek i sen. Dodatkowo w pokoju są tylko 3 kontakty, z czego 2 przy łazienkowej umywalce. Obiekt zdecydowanie nie zasługuje na 4 gwiazdki, jakość do ceny jest zdecydowanie niewspółmierna :( Jest to raczej klimat domku kempingowego niż hotelu z tak wysoką oceną :(

The location is unmatched. A few steps from the Lagoon, and a few meters from city centre. The staff is very kind and helpful. The free breakfast is fine.
Our room, Ceiba, was bad. It should not be offered as a room, for it is isolated in the back of the facility, just in the middle of a service room and some restrooms with pipes cracking all day. I assume that the other rooms are much better. Wifi was poor in this part of the hotel, but in reception was good. And the hotel is small, and it cannot make proper room for cars. So if you have a car, you may have a hard time to park it in the hotel. Our car got trapped behind other guests' cars, so we could not use it because they didn't leave their keys.

Breakfast was ok but depending on who made it. The girl put a little more effort, for instance we got hot milk in the coffee when she made the breakfast. The room was spaceous. The staff was kind and helpful.
We lived on the bottom floor and our terrace was open for everyone to sit in, people sat there while we were in the room, not so nice. We had to put on the hot water tap 5-7 minutes in advance until it got warm. Once one of the staff unlocked our door and was about to come in without knocking which felt very uncomfortable. The gate was closed so you had to ring a bell to get inside and once we heard people ringing on the doorbell for 20 min. The internet was really bad.

We stayed here for 4 nights in January 23. It is considered a small hotel, really a former two story house on the lake that was converted since the pandemic. Three bedrooms in the home, two in the front property. Ours was large with two beds (or a king if combined), decent large shower with hot water and good pressure. Internet was very poor and electricity went out at the property for 3-4 hrs one morning. Probably 8-10 yrs ago , likely a very modern property and was probably in nice condition. Today, a bit in need of help…maybe a good pressure washing and painting to start. Some things probably need repair. The front garden was quite nice and it lead to a long wooden walkway on the lagoon to a covered platform which was quite nice. The lagoon is beautiful and very peaceful. Our fist night was in a very loud room and we could not sleep due to the bed and the noise of the water pump (we think). We paid $119/night and they initially asked for another $30/nigh to switch rooms. They agreed to move us at the original paid for rate. The staff were very pleasant and we met some other nice travelers. A new manager started during our stay and he seems to be interested in making improvements and asked us for suggestions. A good cofee machine was our no 1 recommendation! Until improvements are made or the pricing is reduced substantially, I think there are better value properties nearby.

Helpfull personal, good position at lagoon front.
We booked a room with the double bed. On bookind there were only photos of the beautifull main building, but we got a room in the “store house” next to the main building. In the “store house” is also the water pump, which is every few minutes making a terrible noise. AC was noisy to and not effective.

- being on the lagoon and close to town was convenient
- the breakfast was much nicer than other reviewers wrote- we got fresh scrambled eggs, beans, and tortillas to make breakfast tacos
- despite open vents at the top of the ceiling (which someone had haphazardly shoved cardboard into to help insulate, I suppose, the air conditioner worked decently and cooled the room
- room felt secure and safe
- No one was on the property to check us in when we arrived. No one answered my phone calls and WhatsApp messages for a solid hour. At this point we gave up and walked to dinner. We noticed that one of the rooms was open and ready in the main house and thought, at least we’ll have a place to stay
- when we came back someone was finally there to let us in - but not in a nice room in the main house. Our room was an absolute afterthought- an efficiency unit a former housekeeper probably lived in. Tiny, sparsely furnished, no towels, TP, or soap. None of the cute flourishes from the room we’d seen earlier. Unfinished or sloppy construction.
- And it was pretty dirty. I’m not one to get freaked out over bugs in a tropical jungle, and would expect as much in a cheaper setting. But this room was 2-3x what most other places in Bacalar go for (Bacalar is much cheaper than Tulum!) and for same the price that a decent Marriott in the US charges, I’d expect no dead bugs in the corners and on the floor.
- I immediately texted the management via WhatsApp to ask for cleaning. This went unacknowledged and no housekeeping at all took place during our two-night stay
- the bed was hard as a rock and had only a sheet. No comforter.
- we continued to fend for ourselves by scrounging towels and toilet paper from the closet next door during the stay
- being on the lagoon was fine, but not necessary. This property is so overgrown you can’t even see the water unless you walk out on the dock. And there are so many public docks/places to get in the lagoon, that it was a waste of money to optimize for this feature in an accommodation. If I would do it again, I’d pick a cheaper, nicer boutique hotel in town and just walk two blocks to the lagoon, and rent a sailboat with the money I saved.

the value for money is not great. We had much better hotels for cheaper. this property was not well maintained and you don’t see the lagoon from the room except of you go on the platoon

The price for what you get is ridiculous.
The room had a wierd smell the entire time and ants kept comming in. It also wasn't really clean and was very dark because some of the lightbulbs weren't working.
The front door was always locked and you had to wait for someone to come and open it, which can be annoying in a hot day.
The staff weren't nice and didn't speak a word of english (even the word check-out the guy at the reception didn't understand)

the breakfast was very basic nothing fancy as staying in a hotel but really good taste, the service they provide is excellent. I would definitely recommend this place. the workers are so nice and very helpful . the location is very good close to the downtown

Great peaceful place, lake front and being able to go swimming in the lake. Terraces in the room also were great. Rooms are very spacious, clean and nice. Staff makes you feel at home. Good location to walk to places, restaurants, etc.

location was very good, with a nice pier and a clean lake. the room was okay but not as good as I expected. Everything looks like on the pictures but less clean and a lot older (not really renovated). I loved the atmosphere and a vibe in the hotel
The room wasn’t 100% clean and I didn’t like the smell. The balcony was dirty with the old furniture. The pier was lovely but they could have renovated some bits because it looks like no one took care of it for the past few years.

the photos attached say it all - it’s nowhere near five stars rating, actually the furthest you can get to. seen 2 stars places a lot better. it’s really surprising that booking.com does no verification of star ratings before allowing such places to advertise on the website. upon arrival we were greeted by an underage boy, who spoke no english. the lock on the door to the room where we stayed was kind of shaky, and due to no safe being available in the room and the sliding window not closing (or rather you had to close it with a twig of a tree, see the picture)we felt rather insecure. breakfast was a joke - 1 toast, half a plate of fruit, tea/coffee and juice, definitely not the champions one. we decided to try the boat trip in the lagoon and it was okay, however the boat was 40 minutes late, we paid for 3 hours but it only lasted 2. also “1 hour of free kayak per person before or during the ride” never happened, we were told to get to the tour agency ourselves and ask them to get it.

Be aware that the breakfast is continental, with a piece of toast, coffee, and a fruit plate. They should add washcloths and hand towels to the room.

The property faces a beautiful lagoon.
The property advertises kayaking, but the kayaks are broken and they cannot be bothered to replace them, they seem to think all foreign tourists are happy to be ripped off! Breakfast is included and is pathetic, a slice of bread and not much else.
The staff were looking at their phones all the time instead of helping customers, being completely useless. Viva Mexico!

This property despite its location has no charm and the garden is not well maintained by the owners. Very impersonal rooms like a business hotel.

- the water didnt go well in the sink
- the window in the shower could not close; we had mosquitos all the time and the music and all the noise from the street got in straight into our room.
- no refrigerator in the room, also no possibility to buy any drinks or whatsoever in the hotel.
- the staff could barely speek any English
- the wifi was really poor!!! could even surf on websites.
- no lockers in the room
- the pool was dirty and not usable! (in contrast with the beautiful pictures of the small pool/jacuzzi).

The location on the lake was very nice and the room was very comfortable and quiet.
Breakfast was only coffee, orange juice, fruit and toast.
The hotel was a bit dated showing signs of wear and the windows didn't open.

During my stay, heavy construction work was taking place on the neighbouring parcel. I would have rather woke up to the sound of birds then to power tools. Obviously this is not the fault of the owner, mostly bad luck.
