The main floor will be the hub for entertaining with plush furnishings, a cozy gas fireplace, and eclectic touches of a quaint cottage that will make everyone feel at home. Head into the full kitchen and you will find a gas range, dishwasher, and all of the utensils need to whip up tasty meals for the whole gang. A dining nook awaits adjacent to the kitchen, yet more formal meals can also be enjoyed at the dining table! Plus, the lower floor is home to the laundry room, so don't worry about dirty clothes on this trip. What's nearby: Sitting right on the shore of the Kalamazoo River, you will have no problem getting out on the water to fish, swim, boat, and more! If you want to spend warm summer days on the sand with a good book in hand, Oval Beach is less than a mile away offering stunning views of Lake Michigan. When it is time to grab a bite to eat, stock up on groceries, or check out the charming shops in town, the main drag of Saugatuck is two miles away. Plus, you will be within walking distance of Mt. Baldhead Park! Things to know: Dog-friendly Please note that this home does not have any heat or air conditioning. This property is managed by Vacasa Michigan LLC. If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the nightly pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting "Yes" to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The nightly fee ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 4 vehicles. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit. More information can be downloaded from the "Rental Agreement" on the checkout page. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation. Located right across the river from downtown Saugatuck. You'll need to drive around to get there though :) It's a great location to sit on the screened porch and listen to the music across the water. Very spacious place. Lots of sleeping but one bathroom; bigger groups will need to coordinate accordingly. Lovely time of year to go, No AC but short walls allow air to move freely in the upper bedroom space. Kitchen is large and has pretty much you'll need. Everything was as expected. We had a great time!

We had a family wedding and it was perfect for having a few of my family members for dinner. It’s comfortable and cozy, yet plenty of room to never feel crowded. Well stocked towels and kitchen utensils. We enjoyed the screened porch. Beach is a short distance away. Definitely going to rent again.

Great location making it easy to get around. We were worried about not having AC, but house quickly cooled off after opening windows and turning on fans. Lots of character to home and layout was perfect for extended family vacation.

This home was in the perfect setting on the quiet side of Saugatuck. Not having to worry about parking was nice and to travel over to all of the shopping on the chain ferry was so fun! The house is right next to a 1 mile trail that takes your right to Oval beach.
The character of this house is endless and has everything you need. A room downstairs for our parents to sleep in and plenty of space upstairs for us and an entire room dedicated to our clothes! Haha
Only reason I gave a 4 is because the house doesn't have air conditioning. It got pretty hot throughout the day.

This is the second time my family has stayed here. We love the old charm and great river viewing front porch. We would come again this summer if there were dates open.

We always enjoy Saugatuck in the Fall and this trip was exceptional. Our home away from home choice truly added to the experience.
Because of being elderly, we did find all the stairs daunting. And the toilet in the main bathroom definitely needs to be higher.
However I would still give this cottage a 5 star review. It was charming and we absolutely loved the screened porch overlooking the river.

We loved the screen porch the most, playing games in the evening and enjoying coffee in the morning watching the boats go by. The cottage is a unique blend of a historical family cottage and an upgraded newer home. Specifically, the juxtaposition of the modern kitchen's convenience and the claw foot tub and exposed rafters beaconing back to times gone bye. There is a palpable sense of historical connection with the area that feels like a privilege to be permitted to share in. Thank you for sharing this lovely place through Vacas! We plan to come for another stay in the future, such a great place!

Saugatuck Cottage
Beautiful original antique vacation cottage, well preserved and maintained. Everything was as advertised, clean and prepped. The location was amazing, immediately across the river from downtown Saugatuck, right at the chain ferry dock. Plus the forest trail to Oval Beach starts right outside the door. We couldn't have been happier with the property.
