Also quite fun to stay in my old primary school some 49 years after being a pupil there
A little on the warm side but plenty of windows to open, so not a problem really.

It was lovely and quiet. The cottage was very clean. It was good that we had the use of the field across the road to take our dogs out and walk round. Great shower so nice to stand under. Sandra was very helpful when we arrived.
Not having a direct access garden from your door, so yiu can't just open the door and let the dogs out for a quick pee. Or even to sit out ourselves in privacy in a back garden. Veey disappointed the cottage didn't have that. Not much to do in the area or even surrounding areas that you don't have to travel an hour away. The downstairs bedroom is quite cold even at night. My husband has taken unwell he has a cold & chesty cough, it takes alot for him to get a cold. But the cottage was chillier at nights when we stayed. Sandra said if we were cold to get in touch so I did on the 3rd night and her husband came in and adjusted the heating to come on. The heating never came on at all. My son slept in downstairs bedroom with his Oodie on top of his pj's as it was that cold the 3rd night. My husband was quite poorly and needed heat that night so he wore his jacket and a blanket to keep warm, while watching tv.
Selkirk on a Saturday everything seems to shut at lunchtime or 2 or 3pm a bit old fashioned but you would think it being a tourist town it would be open longer. So very disappointed in Selkirk itself too.

Light bright accommodation. Comfy bed on mezzanine,great shower. Washing mitts in bathroom was thoughtful. I liked the niknaks from the old school...desk, slate, school bell and the history booklet with old photos was very interesting.
Although there was a bench out front, I missed a garden, although you could sit across the little road in a field, the old playground.

We liked the space, comfort and very important for us-the location for our walks on the Borders Abbeys Way.
We liked the distinctive character of the property which is a converted school. There were a lot of extra included with
the stay and the owners were very helpful and readily available. We would highly recommend a stay here.
Everything was fine and met our expectations.
