Very comfortable layout and clean, the Japanese style room is perfect when you have a toddler as they have somewhere to play. Washing machine/dryer in the room is such a help. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the happy hour is a very nice touch! The location is great if you want to be close to a lot of main attractions however it is very busy in the surrounding area so it’s not for everyone. We also made use of the same day luggage forwarding which was very convenient! Make sure to reserve all baby items in advance.
Our room had barely any natural daylight in the main living area as it was blocked by a building (not ideal when you spend much more time in the room due to having a small child). I also think it would be nice if some basic items like oil / salt + pepper were in the room. There were also not enough high chairs (we forgot to ask for it in advance) so unfortunately we had to go without for most of our stay. Lastly, it ended up being ok for us in the end, but the baby bed that is provided is smaller than a standard cot bed, so if your child is older or on the bigger side it could be a bit uncomfortable. But they do provide bed guards instead.

We absolutely loved our stay at MIMARU Kyoto. The location was fantastic — very central and just a short walk to Nishiki Market, yet the hotel itself was incredibly quiet and relaxing. There’s even a charming temple right across from the hotel, which added to the atmosphere.
The apartment was beautiful, spotless, and extremely spacious. Having two bathrooms made a huge difference for our family, and the washer and dryer in the apartment were incredibly convenient.
MIMARU is an excellent choice for families, but honestly a great option for anyone looking for a comfortable, spacious, and peaceful stay in central Kyoto. We would absolutely stay here again.
Everything was excellent!

It is tucked away next to a main road with subway access a couple blocks down. Plenty of restaurant options in walking distance and a 7-11 around the corner.
No issues with uber finding the hotel either.
Although it is right on the karasuma subway line, it’s another 5 blocks to the Tozai line where we had to transfer trains.
