Location was great and the park was such a lovely place. The pub on site was excellent with a lovely seating outside. The lodge was really lovely - comfy sofas and equipped with everything we needed. Very good value for money as some of the other lodges were a lot more expensive.
Nothing - for the price it was good value.

I liked that there was a lot of storage space and the cabin itself was quite big
You could tell it was coming to the end of season the caravan was quite dirty. The carpets were filthy after we left on the Tuesday. I stripped all the beds and found that the mattress protectors had stained on them. The dustpan and brush was filthy the bottom of the bin in the kitchen was filthy also the one in the bedroom. When we got there, we couldn’t figure out how to turn the boiler on to get some heating in because it was very cold so we had to go through the manual, the pipes needed bleeding which really should’ve been done by Maintenance Staff.

The park was so peaceful and perfect for a relaxing getaway! There is an onsite restaurant which was really good food-wise. Huge, tasty portions. The lodge itself was lovely. The hot tub was fabulous! A lovely small outdoor area with furniture for relaxing next to the hot tub was the best feature, but inside was lovely too. The kitchen was well equipped. Location-wise, it was easy to get to lots of local places including York with the park and ride.
Had to phone to get check in details as messages through booking.com came from different people each time, saying different things, but got there eventually. Not an issue if you are arriving during their office hours, but we were later.

Hot tub
It’s not bad, but there was a smell of damp or wet dog when we arrived and it lingered.
The lodge just contains heat even with all the windows and doors open so it was boiling and there wasn’t any fans.
There was also no hairdryer and no Prosecco glasses.
The single beds weren’t comfortable and the cleanliness was just ok. The flies seem to like it in there.
The lodge is just facing some trees but the booking.com map shows it as being on a different road facing the water. It’s on Turnberry but it’s described as being on Oakmont on booking.com so that needs correcting as we expected to be nearby the water for my kids to see the ducks.
The overall experience was just OK.
