Situated in Big Bear, this charming house for $821 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Welcome to Half Stone Lodge. Access to nature is just out the door of this home where wilderness invites adventure. Skiing, mountain biking, fishing, hiking, boating, exploring... the choice is yours. Or stay in, sleep in, cook in and enjoy the expansive space and amenities. Less than a half a mile to The Village, about a mile to the lake, and 2 miles to Snow Summit Ski Resort. A mountain modern log cabin estate that is the perfect escape for families and friends. A feature-rich cabin with quality decor, in-floor radiant heating throughout, a kitchen made for chefs with an 8-burner stove, and hardwood and tile floors. This home has a game room with shuffleboard, card table, Foosball, and HDTV, which will keep the kids entertained. Smart UHD-TVs throughout the house will allow you to access all your favorite online content. Come home from a day of skiing and relax in an oversized 7-person hot tub and grill on the new stainless steel BBQ grill. * Parking Details: Per city regulations the maximum for vehicles is 6 vehicles. Going over the maximum at any times will result in fines to you from the city. (Does NOT have garage access) No street parking is allowed at any given time. * This home IS NOT PET FRIENDLY! If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without SoCal Vacations' approval: There is a fine of $500 per pet. The same way you are expecting us to answer all your questions, concerns and help you out with any issue you might have in a timely manner, we are expecting you to be respectful of the home and the rules. Most of these rules are enforced by city officers since they follow a code or regulation at a city level, some are just to keep the homes as perfect as we possibly can, believe me when I say, all I care is for my guests to have an amazing experience and for my owners to love our services, but for that, rules need to be respected on both sides. - Face-to-face check-in is mandatory by the city code, we will check you in at our office, which is in the Village, it will be quick and easy I promise! - Parking at homes is enforced by city officers, no more cars than allowed please, if so, let us know and we will figure something out for you. - Max occupancy at the homes is enforced by us and the city, you cannot have more people than allowed, at any given time, please do not lie to us, that would just make it harder for you in the end. - You must be respectful with neighbors, if you have music going on, it needs to be inside the home as low as you can talk with your family and friends without raising your voice, think no one should hear the music from the outside. Quiet hours are from 2100 until 0800. - Most houses in Big Bear Lake do not have a/c, be aware of this, summer can be hot but at night with some windows open it gets super nice. - Ants, our super friendly ants are an issue, not a cleaning problem, they are just around. If you leave food over the counter tops, table or sugar, you will have ants soon enough, you have to clean after each meal, not just for good practice, but to avoid them, we put traps, spray and all, but the little ones are fast and don't care about it. - Taking the trash to the clean site is a city regulation, not mine. but if you have issues doing it, we can offer you a service who will charge you to do it for you, let us know. - You must be at least 24 years old to book any of our homes. We are a family-oriented company and we do not allow parties at all. The city will enforce this heavily and so do we. We appreciate you following these rules, communicate with us if you have any issues or concerns, we will always try our best to help you, that is why we are here. The good: The property itself is great! Nice size rooms, good amenities (good selection of games & appliances), good location and nice neighborhood. Having charging cables throughout the house was super convenient! We had a great time playing shuffleboard! We asked for fans (since there's no a/c and it was pretty warm when we visited, and the property management brought extra fans. Unfortunately, trying to get enough towels was impossible. Upon arriving, there was 1 bath sheet, 1 hand towel and 1 washrag PER ROOM. We had 9 adults and 4 children - we requested and were given additional towels but never had enough for each person to have their own. Consequently, we did a lot of laundry especially since the bath towel was also your jacuzzi towel.
The not-so-good: It would have been far more convenient to have a garage door opener rather than having to walk up the front steps, through the front door and then down the stairs to open the garage. I'm not lazy -- it's just inconvenient. Upon arriving and starting to put groceries away, I found a plate full of crackers and chocolate in a cabinet, cheerios on the dining room floor, other packages of opened (I mean like open/stale - not like opened and stored for others to use), cobwebs on the headboard and diapers and other trash behind the chest in the master (moved to look for an outlet). I notified the property manager and they did offer to send housekeeping up but I had already cleaned up because it icked me out.
The crockpot and toaster were sticky and gross.
Overall, the property is good - I just think their housekeeping and towel situation needs to step up.

This three story is perfectly located. It is a short distance from town and close to skiing during winter. The silence was wonderful. The house was clean and well furnished with everything you need in a home. The kitchen is very well stocked and there are two refrigerators… one in garage also. Would definitely return.

The house was fantastic. The kitchen, game room, and bathrooms were all well stocked to meet everyone's needs. We loved the hot tub on the patio. All rooms were well decorated to make us feel at home. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect get away for a group of families
We had such a fun time at Half Stone Lodge. The house had more than enough space for 3 families and was exactly as described. Plenty of linens, towels, blankets, and the kitchen was stocked with everything you could need plus more. The check in/out instructions were very easy and the staff responded to text quickly. We would love to plan another stay at this property.

Great Cabin
We were looking for a cabin large enough to accomodate our family and this cabin definitely fit the bill. The location is also great--super close to Snow Summit. The cabin was clean, well maintained, and had everything we needed... even extra blankets and pillows. The only negative is that it's 3 floors and the stairs were dangerous for our toddlers.

Pleasant escape from the City
This place really was perfect for my children they range from 11-3 they loved it. There was space enough for each one of us. The amount of freedom but closeness we had was really needed. Thank you for having us and we can not wait to come back and enjoy.

New Years Bash!
The property was amazing in is super lose to Snow Summit and Bear Mountain Resort was only a five minute drive. Close to stores and the house had more activities than listed to keep everyone plenty busy. I do not remember the TV on except to watch the ball drop the entire stay! We can not wait to get back up and excited to book here again.

We had a great stay at this property. It was very clean, well-stocked and the photos are accurate. The wifi was great, and allowed all three of my kids to log-in for their school Zoom sessions at the same time with no issues. The neighborhood was nice and allowed for many walks that we enjoyed. We'd definitely stay again!
