Note: my review is very specific to one room-type: La Palma.
I almost feel bad to give this low-rating, but I think it is necessary to give this review to help out future travelers to this hotel. The location is amazing, and so is the overall vibes of this place. Loads of greenery and it is right on the bay. They have created a (tiny) beach which looks very cute. Overall, I would have loved this place, if it weren’t for the room we got. La Palma, does not have a bathroom door! I would have never booked a hotel had I known this before. (I did see a review mentioning this when I reached there, but it was a recent review and hadn’t been published when I had booked the hotel). Without the door, you are practically sharing the bathroom with anyone who you are sharing the room with (and mind you, the room is not extremely big either, so everything is happening right in front of you). I am sorry to write this, but you can’t go about doing your business, in front of another person, even if it is your better half!
I wrote to the owner, and got a response that they are aware of this situation and working on it. Well, it doesn’t help me! Also the fact that someone else posted the same issue 3 weeks ago, clearly they are NOT working on it actively. Had they been, I wouldn’t have to leave the room and go outside, every time my wife wanted to take a dump, and vice-versa! It was HUGELY INCONVENIENT! Especially pinches more when you have to do this after paying north of four hundred bucks

What a great little hide away. You have a dock to watch the sunset. A small beach, and 2 tiki huts, where I had my morning coffee. They also had a kitchenette w coffee pods for single Keurig cups. The bed was comfortable and the unit was clean and steps away from the water. I'd highly recommend this place.

The boathouse used to be used as a store for the lifejackets and paddles, it has no windows, the bathroom door is an old closet mirrored door, when we expressed our disappointment, the receptionist said that she had spent a week in it and it "wasnt too bad but to be honest I wasnt in the room much"

Alright so, this place was right on the cusp of 5 stars. For the price point, it exceeded what I think it should be. So that’s good. I liked everything, it was quiet, set back, calm. The parking lot is away from the building and that creates a real serene sort of atmosphere. Except one a-hole decided to park his cheap Mercedes right in the rocks right next to the sidewalk, which is obviously a no parking area. Check in and out were easy. The WiFi works well. The bed and pillows were good. Our room was aquamarina and it has a good view but the room, with the view, is kinda just forgotten about. There was a loveseat and that’s it. It’s like that’s the best part of the whole place, give the area some love lol. Drawbacks, really the only drawbacks are things that can be easily fixed. If they have someone clean the windows more often on the outside, update some of the bathrooms and doors/windows. Basic maintenance like keeping the outside roof clean (that might be expensive tho). Back to good stuff, The beach area was quaint and nice. You can swim if you want. The sunset on the dock is beautiful. Only one complaint about that area is it isn’t lighted after dark so when the sun goes down the area is kinda useless. I wish they had a gate to the property. All in all, worth the money and we had a great time.

Such a beautiful place. It's a quiet oasis on the main drag. It has such a peaceful vibe. There's lights strung for ambience on the property and the dock is perfect for drinking your morning coffee. The room was pristine and extra touches were given. We have been staying somewhere different for two weeks on a road trip and this is the best place we have stayed.

The staff was fantastic in accommodating us for a very early check-in. We were very grateful for that. Upon arriving to the property, though, the room smelled funky, like it suffered from chronical humidity. Also, the toilet and sink had no water pressure. The setting is nice with a very small and cute (rocky) beach in the property and spacious rooms, but we would not return because of the humidity sensation.

The property is more like a motel than a boutique hotel. There is no amenities. Pictures are very deceiving. There is no beach.

Arrived at 14.30. Told room would not be ready until 1600 as being the "inexpensive" room ours would be last to be ready. No facilities. Not possible to buy a drink. Room was dingy with a view of a store house. Bathroom with chipped bath, very weak shower and peeling paint. Felt totally ripped off.

When we got there, there's nobody in the lobby and there's a number to call. That's fine, but there's no answer at the number. We try for a while, then have to wander the property to find someone. Same at checkout. Dirty room, no bathroom fan, shower is just an old jetted hot tub with a shower curtain and shower faucet bolted on. Mildew on the bathroom windowsills. I could go on... and we paid $300 for the night! Not worth $100. I don't usually leave reviews but this was crazy.

The place is perfect for couples that want to get away. The staff was very helpful and tentative to all of our needs. The location is perfect for walking distance to nearby bars and restaurants. The price was perfect for exactly what we needed

Older buildings but recently updated. Beautiful little sliver of beach and dock. Free beverages in fridge. Could see the ocean from our window. Free laundry! Perfect place for a quick stop to relax. Had food delivery from Fernandez the Bull Cuban restaurant also which was amazing.

This was a very average place to stay. We booked the La Palma suite, and it was fine, except for the fact that the bathroom area had no doors. My wife and I would have to leave the suite every time one of us had to use the toilet. The water in the shower did not get hot either. The property is very small, but it was quiet. We would not stay here again.

The property is very pretty by the water very quiet and quaint. Our room itself needs quite a bit of attention. Cracked tile, paint coming off from the base boards, trash can not working , ceiling half painted , doers very difficult to lock and unlocked with old fashion key. Loved the location and nearby restaurants. Our room needs a little love !!

This place is a tucked away gem. The room was clean and spacious, beautiful view and a really cool mosaic soaking tub. The bed was so comfortable abs the linens soft and cozy. The kayaks on the property were convenient and the kayaking was gorgeous. I can’t wait to come back.

We fell in love with this stay. The staff was warm and friendly they gave us a real laid back but attentive feeling. Our room was above expectations. Separate sleeping rm from living setting and kitchenette came in so handy with microwave mini fridge , dishwasher and sink. Full size coffee cups. I didn’t have to ask for more coffee, they provide at least l2 pods ( that was the best part) I tend to feel anxious if I have to seek out staff to ask for more coffee. our outdoor lounging area was perfect, so private and quiet and we had it all to our selves to view magical sunsets. I booked 4 hotels for the week and I could’ve stayed here the whole week. No hotel compared. Thank you Azul

This place was so quiet and relaxing. We really liked that the place only had a few rooms so there weren't people everywhere. Nice private beach to relax on, close walking distance to restaurants as well. Suites were large and clean, with great views too. Staff was very helpful as well!

We reserved this property because the listing says BEACHFRONT only to travel over 1,000 miles to find out it is not. The photos are very deceitful. There is no beach. It is on the bay. There is a rock wall separating the property from the water. The water nearby is full of some kind of seaweed or sludge that smells like rotting fish. The only access to the water is by boat. We were very disappointed and when we spoke with management to cancel for a refund it was denied. We left anyways and ended up staying in Miami where there is actual beaches and beautiful clear water for enjoying the ocean. If you want beach and ocean access do not stay here.

Cute little spot. Great location with an even better view. A+ hospitality. Our only complaint… the bed killed both our backs. On night two with both wound up on the couches. But, hey at least we had those couches. And, in there defense, no we didn’t approach hotel with our discomfort since our stay was so short.
