Messed up our reservations and got charged twice. Very smoky hallways.

The person at the front desk barely looked up when we arrived. She did, however, perk up when we brought our dog in! The room was clean and well-equipped with everything we needed for our stay. My son commented that having the closet in the bathroom was weird. There was a light out in the bathroom that was not fixed, even though we reported it to the front desk attendant. Breakfast was good, but we did not like the limited milk selection in the cooler (Silk brand only).

Our family of four stayed for one night. I was a little Leary because some of the reviews weren’t great. I’m glad we stayed here! It’s a nice hotel. The pool was shallow but clean and the beds were comfortable. Our kids commented that the lady at the front desk was very nice. We would definitely stay again!

This was the WORST stay I’ve ever had. Pick another place. Thin walls, no one to answer when you call. I got no sleep.
Hotels.com couldn’t even help me.

The issue with this property was not the property, but Orbitz. For the second time in 6 months, my reservation did not show up properly at the hotel. This reservation came up under a different name totally this time and the hotel says it is on your side, not theirs. Not sure why there have been these issues lately.

We were told that Expedia overbooked the hotels, and we were given a clean room, so be king, and do not sleep well together in the space

Room was clean but a little beat up. Reasonably priced We had our puppy so didn’t mind. Nice beds. Great friendly service. Good breakfast and clean facility. We had to complain about the teenage party until 5am two nights in a row, wasn’t happy about that.

On way home from surgery in Minnesota. It sure would be nice if some hotel chain offered accessible rooms that INCLUDE recliner chairs. My poor hurting wife had to make due with a couch and ottoman. It was a nice place, though.

The first room I was assigned smelled so bad I walked right out and asked for another. The room I stayed in smelled a bit like dog. it was not cleaned very well, there was dog food on the floor and other dirt. There was also a gross brown substance all over one of the closet doors and the handle that I had to clean off. I am telling myself it was chocolate but who knows what it was. The air conditioning units are really loud and the closet doors stick so bad its hard to get them open and closed. The bathroom sink also was slow draining so puddled up any time you used it. The pool needs some care as well, it was dirty and moldy in spots. I stay in Marriott hotels all the time and this was definitely not typical for Marriott - it was a bit disappointing.

Very nice hotel. The pool was unpleasant. It was dirty and very cold. But that was not the reason for our visit. We loved the location. We liked the little fire pit, even though we didn't use it. It was a good visit to Des Moines.

The room was nice but not clean. There was something slimey under the couch and a pan still had grease in it from prior guest.
I like the area, the staff, breakfast was ok (not many options) but the cleanliness factor was off-putting

Nice area
The staff was very young and unorganized as for the eating area. Trash was overflowing and they just walked right by and let it pile up.

After we were already checked into our room at approximately 6:30 pm, staff knocked on our door because of possible leak in our sink. He had to talk to someone and then came back to check again. He said he’d let us know if we have to change rooms. Little later he said we did have to change rooms. Took over an hour before we could finally get settled in a new room. He also programmed our new keys wrong and had to wait for this. This was just such a hassle after driving over 10 hours and couldn’t go out to dinner until 8 pm. We got nothing from them for our inconveniences.

The bathroom sink was clogged. I let the front desk know and nothing was done about it. The rooms were extremely humid and sticky. We stayed in a handicap room and it looked like the place had not been looked at in months

Property is in prime location but pray you don’t have any problems because they do nothing for you!! My toilet was broken, asked for a refund, said I had to go thru Expedia. They gave me a measly $25 credit😡

Our room was not ready when we checked in at 4pm. They told us we could get ready in the public restroom which had feces and urine all over the place. We had to go to the mall to get ready for an event. They called at 7pm to tell us our room was ready. We got there at 10:30 and found out that the room was not cleaned. There was coffee in the coffee pot, glitter and hair in the bed and all over the bathroom and dishes in the sink. They did not have another room for us, so we needed to go the other Marriott in West Des Moines to sleep for the night. Likewise there was garbage spilling out of the garbage cans in the front entrance with bugs and bees swarming. This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had!!

The clerk at check in was unbelievably rude and inattentive. It took almost 30 minutes to get checked in which prevented us from getting to any restaurant before they all closed at 9PM. I will say that the manager I spoke with the following morning was very apologetic and agreed to partially compensate us for the experience.

Some breakfast items that should have been hot were cold, we did eat early so maybe that counts but if it gets put out it should be hot. Returned from state wrestling and was not able to park as the lot was full had to park at the mall. But rooms were very clean, well stocked bath towels very soft

I pulled out the sofa bed and a dirty sheet was on it. Gross. A few of the dishes were not fully clean. The breakfast was also subpar- the bananas were turning black, the oatmeal was from the day before

I was double-charged for my prepaid room; told it would be credited back to my acct; instead the second charge was also taken from my acct; now I was informed it will be an additional 7-10 days for a total of 2 weeks before I will have that amount of money returned to me. This is not my mistake and yet, I’m the one inconvenienced in this situation. This is unacceptable. I’m certain Hotels.com or the hotel itself would NOT be ok with me taking 2 weeks to get my payment to them after I completed my stay. Extremely frustrating and very poor customer service!

This Hotel is filthy dirty. First impression walking up to the front door is dirty windows, dirty floors, dirty smelly furniture in the lobby. The complimentary breakfast is poor quality food. Save your hard earned money and stay somewhere else!

For such a nice property by description, I was disappointed. The carpets were dirty and needed to be vacuumed. The cabinets in the room were broken and the walls and doors in the hallways were beat up. The bed was fairly uncomfortable. There are better hotels nearby in the same price point.
