Awful bed with springs that made a lot of noise and gave us back pain.
The room was too hot and the only solution the staff provided was to rent a fan

Security guard speaking loudly outside my room all night, every half hour. Very expensive for what it is and extra £3 charge for a towel! Bed was uncomfortable and the bedroom door closers made the bed shake too. Only positive was I was close to the event I was attending.

Basic student accommodation with shared kitchen etc in great location. It was clean, bright and well equipped. However room was stifling due to sun on windows. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Great location for city. Really terrible cheap mattress, you could feel every spring digging in your back or side. I feel sorry for the students staying at this uni. Everything else was good, but if you want to sleep well, go elsewhere.

A student room for more than £100 per night... I wonder how much normal students pay during the year. Good only because the lack of accommodations in Edinburgh

Easy to check in cheap and simple

Window can't be open fully so might be a little bit stuffy. Thankfully you can loan a small fan from them.

Had a decent stay with some minor inconveniences. The room was quite warm upon arrival despite cool weather outside and took a long time to cool down as the window couldn't be fully opened. Noise from frequent opening and closing doors in the hallways and general noise from other rooms was clearly audible, e.g. woke up to the alarm clock in the room next door.

Great location for sightseeing and night life. Basic rooms but very clean. Really helpful and friendly staff at reception. Could do with a bath mat as the floor was a little slippy after using the shower.

This plac is good for short stay

You have to pay for the towels and the storage of the luggages....

Great stay, stayed overnight. In middle of city. Great location
Charged for renting towels seems unreasonable :(
Other than that everything was great

Overall good for what you're paying for. The room is small but clean. The location isn't in the nicest area, but there are many places to eat (restaurants, cafes etc.) around and it is not far from the city center (walking distance) which is convenient.
Overall good for students wanting to save money but do something a bit better than a hostel.

The room was very clean. It was nice to have my own bathroom.
It was otherwise very spartan, and the room hot, even though it was cold (low60's F) outside. Imagine it would be stifling on a warm day. The window could only be cracked atiny amount.

I had to roam around for 2 hours to get a parking space

We arrived not knowing what to expect after reading the reviews, but was very happy, check in was a breeze, staff were very heplful, room was basic but clean, kitchen area was equipped with everything you needed and it was a 10-15 walk from Edinburgh train station and all the attractions,
We would definitely use them again

This is a student accommodation, not a hotel, you have to be aware of that beforehand. The room and bathroom were very clean and the staff was really nice. The room was pretty warm and for some reason you can't really open the window. But you can get a fan at reception which helped a lot. You also have to either bring your own towels or rent some at reception. The connection to the city centre is very good. We were looking for a budget-friendly accommodation and were overall satisfied.

Unfortunately the experience was so bad that I left after two nights rather than stay for the third. It was extremely hot both and there was no ventilation in the corridors or in the room. The window was fixed and could not be opened.

The rooms are fine and just as advertised. The hotel staff are cool, nice and helpfull people. The building manager was great and she made me feel welcome. If i come back to Edinburgh i would also come back to Murano

I think it's fair to say you get what you pay for and shouldn't expect anything more. Check in was smooth and the flat was clean, although there was not a very nice smell in the shower (that was soon aired out and the building was so hot that you needed the window open anyway) The bed wasn't great, felt like it could break just turning over but for just needing somewhere to rest your head it sufficed! Extra cost for tiny towels

The room was simple, but clean and quite new. Bed was comfortable and bathroom small but clean and functional. You can rent towel from reception for 3 GBP and the staff was polite and helpful. I did not check the communal kitchen or used the laundry, but they are available. It is located walking distance to the Royal Mile (15-20 minutes) and it is quite handy to visit the Fringe. Only slight disappointment is that on checkout you have to pay to store the luggage, it would be nice if they could store it for free.

I stayed three nights. At first touch, the bed seems a little hard, but I slept well. There is a private bathroom with shower, small wardrobe, a desk and chair, and a number of shelves, and that's it.

Pay a bit more money and go somewhere decent. Paying £40 a night to stay here would have been a rip off. Hotels.com and the accommodation had clearly not communicated with each other and despite having proof to say we had 2 rooms booked, the staff bugged us repeatedly to tell us there had been a mistake despite giving us the 2 rooms. On check out told us we couldnt leave until we paid for the second room. Totally ruined the weekend and the staff were rude and bascially very unhelpful. The beds were the worst i'd ever slept in, the pillows and bedding were something you'd get on a long haul flight ie useless. Never again.

The check-in time wasn’t until 3pm which is on the later side. There is no air-conditioning fyi, normally not a problem but there was a heat wave this week. And the noise from the birds was too much. Very no-frills, no soap, no towels (unless you pay for them). But otherwise decent property.

Everything was as expected - it’s noted no A/C, toiletries as you request so we parceled our own. The front desk staff were amazing! Keep in mind this is a uni and student accommodation. If you need a place to crash this is it!!! However 4 nights was a bit much - warning the bed you can feel the spring they are ancient but that is my only complaint. Keep in mind when booking this is not a hotel but a student residence. The bathrooms were very posh and clean! Highly recommend for a one night stay but not long term.

I knew it was student housing so my expectations were low, but I wasn't expecting to be basically sleeping on springs and to not even have a trashcan or shower curtain. Pro: the area is secure and within 20 minutes walking distance from many attractions.

I stayed here for six nights. It was a perfect inexpensive place to stay.

Very cheap, good location, clean and tidy room. The best budget hotel you can possibly get.

Very disappointing accommodation..
staff were super friendly and accommodating to our needs to store baggage before check in time,
however the room itself is where the disappointment begins,
There was nothing in it except an extremely uncomfortable bed. There was no towels in rooms. Bring your own or £3 to rent one.
I Would definitely not stay again given the chance and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone else.

For the price the property was excellent. The shared kitchen facilities were very good. The staff were really friendly. The location was good, about 25 minutes from Waverley. The £100 security deposit was taken off my card by the next day after check out. The walls are very thin and it can be noisy, but overall we really liked it.
2.0
Cheap and cheerful with a good location close to the city centre and local free on street parking.

Staff allowed us to change rooms after the lock on our door wouldn't work. They had no soap for the 6 days we stayed - they received the wrong item (lotions instead of soaps) on our day 4, and weren't expecting their shipment until later. So in the end, we were not given soap for 6 days. Overall, besides the soap issue, great super-budget hotel for the cleanliness, quality facilities you get and friendly staff

Pro:
- convenient check in / check out
- low price
Con:
- basically no amenities, not even towels or soap
- bedding appeared washed but had hairs on it
- walls are very thin and you can hear everything from your neighbor’s room
While I understand that this is a student accommodation, towels would still be nice to have (although I believe you can get some for an extra fee). Hairs in the bed is a no-go. Overall, you get what you pay for but there’s definitely nicer places to stay if you’re willing to spend a few pounds more.

Basic, very clean room with good ensuite. Great to have a kitchen with basic utensils. Oven was very old and rings useless, no batteries in tv remote, details really. Staff were all lovely. Very good value for money for what i paid. I think I was lucky because my room was very quiet but friends in another block found lots of external noise, bring earplugs. I'd stay again if the price was right.

Conveniently located very close to Leith Walk. Very secure within gated grounds. Reception staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. Room was clean and comfortable. Kitchen was clean, equipped with appliances but lacked cooking utensils. Sainsbury and local shops nearby Plemty of good restaurants nearby
2.5
Studio was comfortable and big enough for one person, it had large windows with beautiful views over Leith. Given that the campus was almost fully occupied, it was very quiet. The bed was comfortable and the studio was reasonable equipped with cooking and cleaning appliances. Unfortunately it lacked cooking utensils.

Cheap and cheerfully
