This hotel is a gem. Situated in the heart of the Higashiyama area, it is perfectly placed to explore the cobbled streets of old Kyoto. The room has a spectacular, priceless view of Hokan-ji temple, and the room’s amenities are impressive, being both stylishly constructed and thoughtfully implemented. It is a spacious accommodation (a somewhat rarity in Japanese hotels!) and has character to boot. The excellent coffee truck outside the property is a really welcome bonus (at the time of writing, guests get 15% off of their drinks if they present their hotel key).
Finally, I can’t speak highly enough of the staff. They were so efficient, polite, friendly and charming. This is a highly recommended stay. We’d love to return!

Everything was great but we had internet issues. All the staff were excellent in customer service most especially Scion from Myanmar.
