This place was a haven during the heatwave! So close to gorgeous temples and food. Plus not too far to get other transport (the nearest bus stop is about 6 mins down the hill). Plus it was large and well appointed with a bathtub, excellent aircon and a kitchenette area with a small fridge and a sink. Plenty of cupboards for storing clothes and luggage, which made our four night stay really relaxing.
It took us a while to figure out how to use the bathtub haha 9but it was very worth it when we did)

Spacious modern room with excellent bathroom and facilities (huge beds). English speaking host Yukata, who was very willing to chat about all manner of topics and answer all our questions about the apartment and the area in general. Very pleasant and accommodating - service with a genuine smile. Situated in the midst of the old Gion district - plenty of walking opportunities to explore.
Only suggestion was that there needed to be a small desk (for laptoptop etc). Location was great for walking but difficult for taxis as the actual street was too narrow to access. Not really a problem except for the night it rained.

Perfect location to visit Kiyomizu-dera temple area.
The assigned room was not conform with the description of the room on the booking.com platform. We paid for a one bedroom apartment with 2 double beds, a separate seating area and a fully equipped kitchen for 3 adults. We received a room with 2 single beds (120 cm width), no separate seating area and had to ask for a mattress so that the 3 rd adult could sleep on the floor and cutlery to be able to have a small breakfast. We even didn't receive glasses.This was our worst stay of the 5 stays of our Japan trip.
