One of the best stays we have ever had. Mr Li and his wife were fabulous hosts. They really made the stay special.
The room itself was clean and well equipped. If we are ever back in Kyoto we would definitely choose to stay here again!

Everything was perfect. Amenities, room, location but the owners and their hospitality were on another level. It felt like visiting family members in Kyoto. Their service and friendliness were just incredible and I find it hard to find words for it.

Engawa guesthouse is a great place to stay as a solo traveller in Kyoto. The space is small, but very cosy and well equipped with lots of really thoughtful touches which make the space feel really homely. Linda and Li are such kind and generous hosts who go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcome and ensure you have a great stay in the city. Thank you Li for the wonderful tour around Kyoto which we won’t forget!
The space is small, especially in the dorm. This was not a problem for me, but if you have a lot of bags or are looking for somewhere spacious it’s something to consider.
