The couple that run the guesthouse are very friendly, nice and caring. Lots of toiletries and all sorts of convenience items. The best was the tour that the host took us on in his car at night.. he is so passionate about showing us Kyoto, his excitement was contagious. He took us to some really photographic spots and told us about Kyoto that we would have not known with a guide. And also I met a lot of nice girls from different countries, we exchanged notes and tips. And the location is great, walking distance from Gion, the geisha district and many temples including Kiyomizu-dera which was stunning against the backdrop of the fall colours.
The guesthouse is a little cramped. The location was uphill, and I was carrying a heavy bag, dragging it uphill in a crowded tourist season was not easy. Also getting it up and down the narrow staircase in the house was a little tough, but the host helped me get it in. So basically, don't go with a big bag, haha!

I LOVED my stay in this guesthouse, it felt like being with family with the two adorable owners. They gave me a ton of recommandations for food and activities. The owner even gave us a free car tour with stories about the city and and amazing view of Kyoto by night ! He is so in love with Kyoto and it was contagious ahah ! The facilities were fantastic, with a lot of sanitary products free to use, a common fridge, free coffee and tea and a free laundry service (the owner herself propose to do your laundry, which she did perfectly!!). I couldn’t recommande this guesthouse more, it was my favorite of my whole trip, thanks a lot !
The room was a little small but I was outside most of the time so it was okay. Be careful if you have large and heavy suitcases because the stairs are narrow.

One of the best stays we have ever had. Mr Li and his wife were fabulous hosts. They really made the stay special.
The room itself was clean and well equipped. If we are ever back in Kyoto we would definitely choose to stay here again!

Everything was perfect. Amenities, room, location but the owners and their hospitality were on another level. It felt like visiting family members in Kyoto. Their service and friendliness were just incredible and I find it hard to find words for it.
