The hotel host Thomas is very hospitable. He was gracious in adding my daughter to the stay last min without any additional cost. He also helped me to arrange for a taxi. Overall, it is just a wonderful experience staying at this quiet neighborhood.

Highly recommend! The inn is very cozy and clean and the room we got was very spacious. It is in close proximity to a subway station and bus stop, making commutes via public transit convenient. The staff were also lovely and extremely helpful! We would definitely stay again if we go back to Kyoto!!

This is a very small inn and apparently we stayed in their biggest room. I loved our stay at Marikoji. The hosts are amazing and speak English very well. They have been very helpful with answers to our questions.I loved the access to the small and private zen garden.The room layout is a little unusual for North America, but from my narrow experience quite common for Japan.After staying in an apartment in Tokyo, staying in a traditional Japanese inn but with all the comfort has been an amazing experience.
