This is a modern dark/moody spacious hotel with terrific proximity to the Zocalo. The rooms & bathrooms are large & comfortable & the staff was very helpful (making dinner reservations).

This is a beautiful hotel in the perfect location for exploring the Centro Histórico. We loved our stay here. Our room was beautiful, immaculately clean, very quiet and super comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

There is no parking that’s the only problem I see. They should have an agreement with a parking.

Beautiful building and attention to detail. Ray and Hanna were extremely helpful especially with our airline arrangements. Because of its downtown location it can be busy and noisy. However we felt completely safe and we enjoyed discovering the surrounding area.
We are recommending the hotel to erveryone and will stay here again.

Hotel is in a great location and the room was great. However, their hot tub is a cold tub so we couldn’t really sit in it. Their internet is really bad so makes it hard to plan or do anything in room. The beds were not comfortable and when people above you flush you’ll be smelling that on it’s way down

Loved the architecture of the building inside. The lobby and grand staircase and iron railings pretty spectacular--very art deco feel. The suite was beautiful. Staff helpful and friendly. Will stay here again on my next trip to CDMX.

Everything was wonderful except the air conditioning.
The 1st night we got there room was so hot we called front desk. They send someone to look at it, they said everything was working good but for my husband and I it was to hot.

Great location! Beautiful hotel. The staff is incredibly helpful! Love the rooms, great restaurants on site. So much around the hotel within walking distance. Definitely will be back to this location when I come back to Mexico City.

Excellent service, fantastic accessible room, great restaurant and bar, I have decided to stay even longer.
The neighborhood is so much fun with shopping for everything under the sun. From cheap street food, to higher end shops. The location feels very safe and the hotel is quite secure.
I really love the old Otis elevators, they present a sense of old world class and reliability.
I’d come back anytime.

The staff was friendly and helpful in answering questions. The hotel was very clean and met our expectations. We felt safe walking around the historic center and it was close to the places we wanted to visit.

Our stay at Umbral was absolutely wonderful. The hotel is immaculately clean and the staff go above and beyond to ensure your comfortable. They were all sincerely kind and helpful, and we really appreciated the suggestions they shared for activities in the area and helpful hints for the excursions we had planned. The food was phenomenal, and the convenience of having a cafe and multiple restaurants in the same space was fantastic for us. We took advantage of the great location and explored much of the city on foot, and we looked forward to returning to Umbral every time we went back to “home base”. We would definitely stay here again and will highly recommend the hotel to friends and family planning a trip to CDMX.

Excellent restaurant on the top floor. Really worth checking. Refine and artistic setting of the property in the middle of city chaos. A bit dark colors to the taste, although.

The staff at the Mexico City location was incredibly courteous and assisted us in English.
The hotel itself was stunningly beautiful with its old colonial architecture. Lovely rooftop pool and a cute outside patio breakfast nook serving tasty healthy food. We didnt eat at the roof top restaurant but it looked lovely although a little beyond our price range.
Ground level dessert spot serving churros and espresso hit the spot mid day when we were heading back into the hotel.
All in all a super experience and we will definitely be coming back!! Thank you

Was consistently good with a great variety to choose from. The front office staff helped me many times with issues I had with excursions.
I will definitely stay at this hotel again and I’ve been to Mexico to city many times, and this is the best hotel I’ve had so far and that includes the Marriott and the other Hiltons in Calle de Reforma

Loved the location which was walkable to all areas of Centro. The only negative I can say is our room did not have a view. But we take what we can get.

Cordial and friendly staff, great location just minutes walking distance from Zocalo, the historic center of CDMX, shops and museums, and very clean and comfortable facility. Breakfast included but you will need to ask them which breakfast items are and aren’t in free breakfast.
Many restaurants and business shut down after 5 and there aren’t many options by walk near the area but they have kitchen on the top floor open til late to grab a bite.
Overall, it was a great stay. Kudos to young, infinitely patient staff.

Our room had no windows! When we asked to move to a room with windows, we were told only suites have windows and they were all booked during our trip. If I had known the hotel rooms did not have windows I would have booked elsewhere.

Stayed a week in a comfortable, spacious king suite. Huge opening windows were nearly soundproof and allowed a great view of the bustling street (regular rooms appeared to lack outward windows and thus sunlight). Lights were needlessly quirky though. The rooftop pool area was a great escape. The location was perfect for us: an easy, interesting walk to everything in the Centro, including a great variety of restaurants, and an easy Uber ride beyond. Service was always friendly throughout, though we had a couple of avoidable billing issues (a missing room charge; almost checking out another room). A great option for a wonderful city.

Erik! Erik! Erik! Is the reason I think overall our experience at Umbral was excellent. He provided stellar concierge services. We had an overall fabulous time in CDMX because of Erik’s suggestions. He was able to take our preferences and create a great curated experience. There was an issue with noise, and the sound of scraping tables against the floor in our room at night. The scraping sound was nerve-rattling. While I understand that we were below the hotel’s restaurant, I think there needs to be some sort of accommodation made for guests trying to get a good night’s sleep.

Loved our stay. The staff was wonderful and the concierge service was excellent. The room was spacious and well maintained. Hardly any closet space though for a suite that size, but we managed.
The I only negative for me was I the noise level. The music from the rooftop bar was loud and went on till 11pm; plus, the location is quite busy and it doesn’t help to have old windows!

Nice rooms and the “city” is right out the front door. Coming from the US I was expecting homeless encampments and police sirens but nothing. I felt safe and comfortable

Umbral was perfectly located for our stay in Mexico City. The rooms have a modern design in an historic building. The roof top terrace was great for having a drink or grabbing a bite to eat; and the upscale restaurant was great if you wanted something a little more fancy. Staff were friendly and very helpful. We would gladly stay here again on our next trip to Mexico City.
